We'll see what happens I guess.

a multiplier of a budget is irrelevant without context. 50% of $10 is $5, where $10% of $1 million is $100k. The original pacific rim made $400 million box office, and probably made around ~80 million profit. It also really did well in home sales so it made some pretty good money when all was said and done. Oceans 8 did less than $270 million and, based on similar films, is probably only gonna profit around $40 million or less. Adjusted for inflation its done worse than the other oceans films, a…

I'm talking about the sequel you dummy. the sequel is not going to spawn a cinematic universe like they were planning.

I doubt pacific Rim will get a sequel either. Studio's try to save face, just because they announce something doesn't mean it will actually happen. They did the same thing with the ghostbusters reboot.

It only grossed around 130 million in the US, which is less than they spent on the production budget + advertising. Studios get far less profit from foreign markets (China for example can take as much as 80% of ticket sales from the studio). The film probably made money but nowhere near what they wanted. i think a sequel aint happenin.

I agree with most of those. I like Sarah Silverman as a person, but her standup is no different than Schumer... Just fart, period and shit jokes. I havent seen Tig Nataro except when she talks about her cancer and I didnt think any of that was funny.

That's what happened. They contacted twitter, got the IP and then went to the FBI.

According to The Cincinnati Enquirer, Roe said that she was being punished for "engaging in the same sexual freedoms that men on the campus enjoy." HAHAHAHA. This whole story is a gold mine.

I guess im wrong. I just know I pay around $500 a month for health and dental insurance and I dont even go to the doctor. My nephew/nieces usually get sick and go to the doc atleast once or twice a year, plus twice a year for dentist.

$500 per month for CS You didnt pay enough imo. I dont have a kid, but I have to suspect raising one costs a shit ton more than that. Healthcare and school stuff alone has to cost atleast 6k a year. Nevermind food, clothes, housing/utilities and other incidentals etc

She's 16, she'll get away with it. The PR of being a young female developer will probably get her tons of scholarships into a good program that will then get her the experience she needs to get into a prestigious job.

I'm on the tall side and never understood the height insecurity thing either. I have one friend who whines about being short and I always tell him, I'd take his shortness over my excessive Persian hairiness any day of the week. I have fucking hair everywhere and would have a goddamn unibrow if I didn't pluck it every week.

And when Obama was in power people bitched about the cost of his family vacation costs. in particular, i remember one of those trips to spain that michelle and the daughters took that cost tens of millions of dollars. they're the most important family in the world, its going to cost a shit ton to protect them when they go somewhere. what do you want, the president and his family to stay in a basement 24/7 like you?

I dont disagree, but in practicality that isnt an option. The gov't is going to cut funding to welfare programs like pensions and social security, over increasing taxes and decreasing spending in areas like the military.

Multiparty systems really only work in a parliamentary democracy. Our system is too different, and there's too much gerrymandering in the structuring of voting districts to ever have a third or more party work out.

im pretty far on the left myself, atleast in terms of social issues. but the shitty argumentative attitudes of SJWs, and their big brother/thought policing tendencies have led me to move more right. SJWs really are their own worst enemy. Theyd be successful if they would actually listen and embrace people, rather than act like the gestapo.

to be fair, we dont know if these are the SJW types. these could be conservative value types that demand to be taken care of.

Wouldnt it be better to lower the age of men? They keep increasing the retirement age because the welfare state is in debt. If they just decreased the retirement age for men, that means hundreds of thousands of people are going to retire early and get an extra 5 years out of the gov't....thats probably hundreds of billions of dollars, maybe trillions, that the gov't doesnt have and the next gen has to support. The US is currently at 65 and planning to go to 67 in the coming years, so the UK's re…

Charges were dropped on him and she and some friends caught misdemeanor charges. HNNNNNNNGGGGGG fuck yes. You know that wouldn't have happened if the story didnt go viral.

most of the court room ones like Judge Judy, Judge Mathis, Peoples Court etc are real. This one definitely looks staged though.

Realistically she plead guilty because 1) it saved her money on having to retain the lawyer and 2) she would have been convicted of much harsher charges. Unfortunately she's getting off easy here, and not necessarily admitting fault for altruistic reasons.

The "me too" thing isn't about women who were touched on the stomach inappropriately, it's about women who were raped. No, a lot of examples of metoo are talking about sexual harassment. Getting groped, cat called, or hit on by a boss, though inappropriate, is not rape. the guy in OP is definitely getting sexually harassed by the same standards- he's being touched in a sexual manner without his consent.

Which I never understood. If it was just a generic women's sub, okay, but they are very politically orientated in a niche sort of way.

Actually in this case honor student would mean she got decent grades. Honors and top of the class is a designation relative to the peers in her specific school/county, its not a nationwide rank. there are lots of inner city public schools that have massive student failure rates. if everyone in your class is failing or have gpas in the 2's, someone with a 3.2 gpa can easily be top of their class. yet nationwide, a 3.2 gpa is mediocre at best, and youd have difficulty getting into a good college.

Being and honor's student or at top of the class is relative. If you go to a shitty school where most students are failing out and have really low gpas, you could get a 3.2 gpa and be amongst the top performing students.

It really feels like she or her husband is going to enter politics sometime soon. The media has been pushing them so hard over the past year.

Honestly, who cares. Let them have their little safe space. It's not like these types listen to anyone outside their echo-chamber anyways.

in that specific situation, alimony makes sense if it only lasted a few years (enough for the spouse to go back to school or find work experience etc). But a lot of the time, people get taken to the cleaners by having to pay for as long as the spouse lives. Or even more insulting, the spouse has a career of their own but because they dont make as much, they'll still get alimony. Makes no sense whatsoever.

charges will get reduced...well atleast she still has something on her record. the way the economy is right now, that's guaranteed to hold her back. even if its just a misdemeanor.

I remember her coming on Howard Stern many years ago. Back when she was on roasts. I honestly liked her back then and she seemed really humble and self-deprecating. My how money and success changes some people.
