Politicized drivel like this is what drives lack of mutual understanding. I think most sensible people would tune out by the first line, somewhere in between "collectivist thinking" and "lefto-female", which impressively is quite a short space.

It didn't seem like the general reasonable population thinks anything that a man does to increase his odds in the SMV is manipulative. Which is why I was asking for evidence of claims this was a common belief held by reasonable blue pillers... That's the rub, isn't it? It's true that the people I had in mind are rather self-selected in their opposition, and so may not match the general population very closely. But the question isn't whether the general population believes everything they say, it…

Building muscle can by itself automatically help you lose weight, all else being equal, because muscle cells have higher basal metabolic requirements, so more calories need to be burned just to keep you being you. (This is the core of the claims that weight training is better for fat loss than cardio that you'll hear bandied about at places. Now, I still think HIIT cardio is best for pure fat loss, but weight training is still better than the slow-pace, elliptical-machine-for-45-minutes that too…

In my personal experience, when a man really likes a woman and wants a relationship with her, he makes it obvious from very, very early on. He will be on his best behaviour with her, he will be the one asking to see her more often, and he will be the one asking for commitment. I'm sure that there's some subset of guys who like a girl so much that they'll make it this easy for her, putting the ball entirely in her court. I think you'll find, though, that the type of guys desperate enough to do th…

I'm just going to jump in where you guys left off, because a day is a week on Reddit time and I missed the hubbub. And yes, like disposable_pants, I was alluding to PUA/Game type advice earlier. @i_have_a_semicolon, Quite frankly, and with due respect, you have zero clue what you are talking about. Every guy who's ever had to lean on PUA-type advice at one point in his advice, and found himself defending it, has had ample experience hearing the most benign things called "manipulative". We're not…

Intensity matters far, far more than length of exercise. (What louplop called HIIT is High Intensity Interval Training, in case you needed clarification.) Lifting is one way, high intensity cardio is another, but simply walking for long periods is not a reliable way to lose weight. Exercising his abs directly will build his ab muscles, but they won't be visible underneath the fat. He needs to get his body fat % down. Diet, of course, is also very important. Make sure to cut sodas out, etc.

Exactly this. What kind of question is this? Of course I do. Silly question. I would listen to what she says on anything. Whether I act on it is another matter, of course, same as for anyone else.

Woman 2 for me. Maybe less ass than ideal - jutting your hip out like that tends to conceal that but top notch ass connoisseurs aren't fooled, and her upper arm area screams "expect boniness" - but undoubtedly a very beautiful face. Woman 3 probably has the ideal amount of musculature for any guys who are into fit chicks. Me, I'm indifferent. Her face isn't really my type though. Woman 1 has a rather boxy figure, though it could just be unflattering clothes. If those photos are the only thing we…

I can only confidently speak for myself, but men's sexual attraction towards women doesn't come from physical looks alone. The issue seems less that nonphysical traits sought are not the same ones that many women would like us to seek, not that nonphysical traits are not sought at all. Similarly, I don't really think the issue is that men don't know that women are attracted to nonphysical traits - well, apart from a couple guys on this subreddit who are pushing it to a creepily fetishistic extre…

Faking confidence until you make it is manipulative. Having a couple of lines prepared or overall plan in mind when undertaking the nerve-wracking task of introducing yourself to a stranger, is manipulative. Lying about your age repeatedly is okay. Uh-huh.

Disclaimer - I'm responding to this post only because it's at the top and I want my post to stand even a slim chance of ever being read. (This is why I normally stay off Reddit and comment only on obscure blogs run by strange people.) Physically? Ass. Don't really care about boobs. Not too skinny, because too skinny girls don't have ass. Too fat is when you start getting folds on the stomach, hips, ass, etc. Anything in between that range is fine. No preference in height. No preference in hair c…

I disagree, though (Bill Clinton hat on, which I like so I'll keep it on) that depends on your definition of the words "TRP" and "a lot of women", are. I do not consider myself Red Pill, but I hold opinions that would cause a very significant number of contemporary liberals and SJW types to put me at least half way in that category. I've definitely heard the notion that "if you're willing to engage Red Pill ideas as if they're anything worth engaging", which definitely describes me, "then you're…

Good for you! I hope you are very happy. Yes, I cannot recommend strength training enough for everyone. It improves everything about your body. It firms up and improves your skin. It improves your metabolism, and even several things like heart health and fat loss traditionally associated with cardio. (In general, in exercise, intensity trumps everything else. For the benefits that people traditionally associate with cardio, yes, high intensity interval training is best, but strength/resistance t…

Men generally peak later than women. It's silly to deny that this is the case, when it's trivially easy to find so many complaints from women, both online and off, about this. 32-year old single women aren't complaining that they can't get 25-year old guys the way they could when they were when they were 25, and that this is exactly - exactly, I say! - mirrored by the gender converse. No, their core complaint is that it's harder for them to get 32-year old men now than it was for them to get 25-…

A couple warnings: absolute essay incoming. I do this because I just want to write some things down for the first time, then copy and use them elsewhere as needed. Responding to a disagreement helps me focus and put general positions and thoughts into writing for the first time. Excuse me in advance if these general positions deviate from a strict response to what the OP said. Regulation of large corporations is not communism. Taxes isn't communism. "Communism" is an overreach that many right wi…

Very well said. And yes, friends should look out for drunk friends. Always escort your drunk friends in person to their bus stop/cab/Uber ride until they are physically in the vehicle.

While it may be true that there remains a wage gap even for the same job, that's not what the traditional measurement of the "wage gap" is measuring. The "77 cents on the dollar" variations you've heard all do not control for occupation or hours worked - it measures median male earnings vs. median female earnings, period. Seriously, look it up. If you actually believe otherwise, you're under a serious misapprehension. Doctor vs. janitor (or more likely, someone like a doctor working long hours v…

I echo your sentiment. It makes my icy little heart grow two sizes this Christmas to hear someone like future_space_boobs say that, and think that mutual understanding is possible.

The times when I've had to turn girls down, I really felt bad about it and did my utmost to avoid hurting her feelings. This goes doubly so because girls rarely go after strangers, these were all cases within my circle of friends (of friends). The only times I've struggled with stringing along a relationship I didn't actually want, were not because I wanted to maximize the amount of sex I could get in the meantime or feared getting cut off from sex or any of the other reasons discussed in this t…

You really think it's a good idea to encourage two people to commit when one of them doesn't want to?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/16 08:48 AM
You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
