I agree with this response and I think context is really important. If you are in the middle of a conversation and the guy up and disappears then yes that’s definitely a move-on type of situation. But I have a really demanding job and really prioritize my me time so if we are in the early stages of dating I prefer more spaced out communication for planning dates and such. Of course as the relationship progresses and becomes more serious the communication should also become more regular.

Andrew Schulz is misogynistic trash. Avoid his content at all costs. Him and Charlamagne the God as he likes to call himself (another giant misogynistic and CREEPY dickhead) have this podcast together where they sit around shitting on women and bullying the one “token” black woman they have on the show. Ofc they have a huge male audience and the whole thing is just disgusting

This is a good idea. I might literally make one of these too so the next time I have the bright idea to speak to a guy I can look at these and remember what the fuck kind of monsters I’m dealing with

100% this. As you level up in terms of your job and experiences you meet less and less women like the OP describes. I have a great circle of BFFs who are all accomplished women and they are incredibly supportive and loving of one another. All the older and wiser women I’ve met have been incredible mentors and guides for my growth as well. By far, my healthiest and most beneficial relationships have been with other women in my life. The last time I saw the type of PICKME behavior OP describes was…

“He’s a great dancer and I’m a sucker for great dancers. But he didn’t even get my number. Over the next six months we kept running into each other. [One night], my best guy friend walked up to him and said, "This is Olivia’s number. Use it." That was the beginning.” Enough said.... This relationship was doomed from the beginning

I personally agree, maybe an unpopular opinion but I see a lot of codependency in relationships around me and I find it alarming. I've read that over 90% of Americans are in codependent relationships. Of course this is also circumstantial, and what needs to be taken into account is what your partner does for work as well as the nature of the conversation, e.g. replies should be quick for urgent questions/emergencies/etc, and whether they are making time for conversations with others and not you …

Saved!! Fantastic post. Men are socialized to be entitled and overconfident so they often also “sell” themselves as being more impressive than they really are. We have to do the hard work of trying to evaluate them with as much objectivity as possible ESPECIALLY when we are attracted to them.

Actually marmosets almost always give birth to twins and you’ll often have both twins attached to the mom, with the dad and siblings interceding to carry the babies when the mom is tired. They are actually one of the few species of primates that have life-long pair bonds. As an aside, most primates, including chimps (our closest living relatives) exercise some form of “polygamy”. I would recommend the book Demonic Males by Richard Wrangham (primate expert and tenured professor at Harvard). He ex…

I worked with them for many years... this is not the whole truth. The moms do the vast majority of the carrying and care actually... although it’s true that they are pair bonded and the males don’t stray. Just like medium value human males the male marmosets here are just doing the bare minimum LOL

Yes agree - while I’m not big into the text screenshots I think the reposts from other subs are a good demonstration and warning as to how a woman’s life can devolve after making a series of concessions/sacrifices to see the “good” in a man instead of making decisions in her own self-interest

Fair enough, I see your point. I think the risk-level associated with vetting and dating a stranger with no shared social context can more intimidating/scary for women. At least I have felt that way. But there definitely are certain red flags that are really easy to pick up on men’s profiles

I love this answer. I think the notion that intelligent men are particularly low EQ is misguided. Most men are low EQ across the board. Don't lower your standards OP! Date someone that you find intellectually stimulating (however you want to measure that) AND who is kind and loving. Yes, they exist. And on the flip-side, dating guys who are less intelligent than you can you put you in situations where you have to deal with their negging and insecurities.

Exactly. You can come from a place of “love” once you’ve ascertained that this person is worthy of it and capable of giving you the same love back. This lady’s advice just looks like a surefire way to encourage codependency

I’m pretty sure I will keep mine, although I don’t mind the idea of hyphenating. I personally don’t want to lose my family identity when I choose a partner, especially because my parents are very hard-working immigrants who enabled my successes. Another consideration for female professionals (esp. published authors) and entrepreneurs is that their names can be inextricably associated with their work, in which case changing their last name might be a less favorable choice.

Very true. But I think this post is helpful for the ladies that end up draining their energy in the “analysis paralysis” of trying to figuring out why a guy is the way he is. Sadly, there sometimes just won’t be any retribution for these losers and expunging them from our brains can be a huge step towards finding our peace

I cancelled my subscription this morning and I let them know exactly why. These companies need to be hit in the pocket where it hurts them the most. I get filled with dread thinking about how the normalization of pedophilia at this scale now only indicates that the problem is going to get worse and worse. If something so EXPLICIT is now subject to DEBATE it won’t be long before it’s part of the acceptable mainstream. A lot of psychopaths working at the top of power hierarchies in business, polit…

The answers here are great and I think what a woman deems sufficient communication is going to vary somewhat based on her personality and needs. If you are looking for structured guidance in this area (particularly in the early stages of getting to know someone) The New Rules does a good job with that

I think it’s interesting that men’s contributions to a relationship are often “fiscal” (at least traditionally that has been the case) and so they seem more tangible than the emotional and physical labor women pour into their relationships. Because it is difficult to quantify that type of labor it is easy for men to dismiss it or in the worst case scenario, not even acknowledge that it exists. Women sacrifice their own identities to play the supporting character in men’s own movies. I’m glad we …

Excellent post! Saved - thank you so much. I actually had a related experience in a prior relationship with a man who would frequently try to siphon energy and attention from me towards his “mental and emotional struggle” which was really just a method he used to monopolize my time and control and isolate me. I can especially relate to the part about confronting these types of men about seeking professional help - they often eschew it. Men love calling therapy “useless” or “stupid” because they …

Imo you have to pick and choose advice from almost all the youtubers mentioned on this sub, including Shera, Chloe, Shallon, and Anna bey. I think elements of their videos are super FDS and then other elements are really not aligned with FDS (i.e. encouraging sugaring, discouraging women from focusing on their degrees and rather emphasizing “femininity” to attract a man, etc). I think those resources are best for discerning members of FDS who can pick and choose the advice that best suits their …

That’s why it’s really important to date only after you’ve otherwise built a happy and satisfying life for yourself. That way time spent with another man isn’t framed as an “escape” from your life but rather as something that can either add to or subtract from an already fulfilling one. Otherwise, it is too easy to become entrapped by manipulators and narcs who are looking for women to prey on.

This is a really good point and I felt like the way she framed the marriage problem for women as a “mystery” rather than as a consequence of what the patriarchy wants was dated and off-base. But the interviewer is also male and I think she could be hedging her language in the interview so as not to “offend“ which is just another thing we are constantly conditioned to do

Hey, I just want to chime in here because I am also 24 and in the exact same situation as you lol. My dad is actually a taxi driver and was also quite verbally abusive in the car towards me growing up. A lot of those negative memories bother me from time to time and I put off getting a license as way to kind of push away some of those memories. However, I have decided it's something I'm going to do on my own terms to empower myself. Try to frame it as a way of bettering yourself by developing a …
