Sometimes it helps me to keep in mind that they probably feel just as insecure (unless they're raging narcissists).

Maybe shift your goals from "asking for her number" to inviting her along to something fun you were gonna do anyway. If she says no, you probably weren't a great match to begin with.

Move on. If you're thinking this much, it's usually done with. Find someone you like even better.

I've enjoyed watching comedians riff (spontaneous stuff only, standup is rigidly planned). Careful with the profanity and edgy content of course, but it's a great way to pick up talking skills. It's their job to be great talkers, after all.

I mean, what's the point of sleeping with someone you don't like? Life is too short to spend it with annoying people. Just don't and say that you did.

Hang out with her friend group without sex. Don't sleep with people for purely political reasons, it'll come back to bite you

Witty banter. Make jokes, keep it light, generally act like you barely care. If you're giving off the impression that you're Tindering just for a laugh, it's much more organic, and tends to lead to equally organic date ideas

Plan a few things around town that you want to do over the next couple of weeks: Sports events, concerts, movies, farmer's markets, whatever else you can think of. Casually mention these when you get to the "so what are you up to these days?" part of the conversation. If she seems particularly interested in some of them, invite her! If you have a genuine interest, it'll shine through and both of you will probably have a really good time. It's easy to have a great date if you're doing something y…

Honestly I would just find something (non-solo) that you're going to enjoy even if you don't meet a girl. Then if you do, great have a good time. If not, great you had a good time. For me, those activities are along the lines of movies or food. Volunteering is a good start if you don't know what works for you.

Watch some standup comics, and learn how they turn their personality quirks into funny conversation. If you feel awkward or unsure or anything else, talk about it! It comes off as very genuine and charming if you can phrase it decently. I think you realize you're at your best when you're not hiding much. So, don't. If they don't like it, you shouldn't waste their time trying to curry their favor anyway. Win-win.

Success! Made out like 4 times over the course of the night. If either of us weren't living with our parents, I could have easily sealed it! Thanks for the advice!

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
