Your example would be more apt if someone walked up to you on the street and simply said "give me your wallet" in a non-threatening manner. The main problem is never did my parents teach me what to expect from a woman. Seriously... nothing. The most I was taught is that she'll cook, clean, and raise the kids. I later learned that any USA female can call that sexist. In the past, it would have shamed me out of it and left me with no expectations on their part. Too many get caught up in what they think they have to. When kids are faced with choices I'll explain the advantages and disadvantages of each but will not choose for them. Instead of adoption I chose 'Big Brother' type mentoring programs.
