Sounds like a very “the pot called the kettle black” situation. He was also on the app which is how he saw your activity, then called you out even though there’s also a chance he was interacting with others as well. It seems like neither of you were communicating as transparently as you could have been, and to echo others perhaps it just means no one was necessarily ready for a relationship / he had previous baggage from the past.

I can deeply resonate with your post and have been doing some reading on the topic of healing traumas and understanding where it stems from. https://www.goodreads.com/en/book/show/57941223 And https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/57941553-becoming-the-one?ref=nav_sb_ss_2_16 Have been extremely helpful in reflecting and reframing past experiences

This is so true, and it's important to know that you are not responsible for the ways they decide (or decide not to) address their issues head on. I came across this article, relating to how you mentioned insecure men tend to self sabotage and it seemed very informative. May be worth considering as well

I’m currently taking a certificate course to update my education and skills, and my bf is always encouraging me and being supportive by sometimes helping me study (he’s in a similar field) or using his computer so I can have a bigger screen when I’m doing lots of work (I only have a small laptop). When I have my time of the month, he makes sure the fridge has some chocolate, or will order dinner from my fav takeout place, bring me a pain tablet/hot water bottle etc. We have tea together mostly e…

May I also recommend, the Millionaire's Fastlane by MJ DeMarco. My guy and I have read it twice now, because we're both interested in business and in the midst of working on one, and it's helped a ton with mindset and helpful tools in succeeding!

I have flat feet and Birkenstocks have been the best option in the warmer months! Stylish, comfortable and you can walk in them feeling supported :)

right! you can explore it with a longer term partner together, with someone you feel safe around and connected to. that makes way more sense than exploring things with random people who you likely won't see again due to ghosting/flakiness. i never understood the point of hookups.

This is awesome! :) I’ve been so stressed out at my new job and I’ve been coming back so tired I have been skipping my exercise routine. Yesterday I said to my boyfriend that I wished I had time for myself before work to just go to the gym for the first time in a while. While he was getting ready to leave for work he told me to get dressed for my workout and then he took me to the gym before commuting to his job. Having a partner who really gets your needs is the best!

Exactly this. Technically they also are “average” in looks, they just like the theatrics and over the top-ness of it. It’s all just for show and i honestly find it funny how some guys expect real life women to behave that way too.

Yeah this stuff is "normalized" sure, but is it really healthy? It definitely is destructive, I lived through it for a whole year. My SO's mother convinced us to move in with her and all hell broke loose... It definitely changed our relationship in some really rocky, unfortunate ways. Luckily now we live away from that and we're really working on things separately and as a team to bounce back from it, but honestly that shit is traumatic. I would never wish it upon my worst enemy.

ooof this one hurt, I had to live with my "in-law" and all of this shit happened.... luckily I no longer live in that hell-hole but the comparisons, the complaining that I'm not a "housewife" and telling me I should be prepared to cook and clean 24/7.... I noped out of there

I go for a brow wax once per month ($20), I also invest in some stocks which has grown almost 700 in the span of one year, I set a budget and will go to a store at the mall or in my area and find a nice outfit that can also match other clothing items I own so that I can mix and match them to make new looks

Yup. My SO’s mother was so obsessed with him. We moved out from renting with her cause she was crossing so many boundaries and made sexual comments about his body way too many times. I’m glad we’ve noped out of there and live on our own now and are recovering from the overbearing “mommy dearest”.

That’s kind of a pick me mindset in a way, the women who convinced themselves that they can have sex with 0 emotions and 0 connection... like they wanna be “one of the guys”

I think it depends on where you're at in life. I'm 24 and so is my partner, and we have been together two years. Doing the van life is something we want to do short term to road trip in certain areas. I think it's cool if that's something you both agreed upon when you met and it's a mutual goal. If it's one person already doing it and you want to date them, it would be a huge change in lifestyle and could feel really strange. So I guess my take on it is that it varies on the couple and for sure …

but also, isn't it supposed to feel like there's potential for a friendship? it's good to be friends with your SO anyway

“Some realized how addictive it was and have gone cold turkey because they know it’s better for their mindset.” My SO was pretty obsessed with it and didn’t tell me about his habit until it was really affecting him badly and everything started to click. It made him unproductive, not nice to talk to, irritable all the time and protective over his phone. He realized how negatively it was making his life including our relationship and cut it out all at once one day... it’s like being with a whole d…

No but watching it is a bit of a cop out because in real life it can make the person watching it not want to make effort to impress whoever they want to sleep with/go out with etc. It’s instant gratification, it wasn’t something that was “earned” with the work of putting in effort into looks, self care, communication skills. And that’s what can be damaging.

In my own experience (23f), when my partner (23m) watched it very often, it caused him to be more in an irritated mood around me and would snap easily. I have also read some of the studies people here have mentioned and it’s true, overindulging and seeking instant gratification (I wonder if the same brain wiring is reinforced when people use social media) can be damaging. I find that now that my SO has stopped watching it, the quality of our relationship has improved a lot. He’s more attentive, …
