Instead of simply disagreeing with him, perhaps it would be good to try and find people that are on "his side" that you can see eye to eye with and agree with. The second bit of this sentence is to me what really seperates TRP from real cults. You can freely read opposing opinions. In your original post you mentioned how TRP encourages social isolation. But the examples you gave were individual people who decided almost freely to abandon ties to their past life.
