Being honest....anyone with kids regret divorce? I don't think I can leave them.Well it's easier to reflect on things in hindsight than it is going through them. I certainly could have done better myself in some areas, and it took me time to develop my focus. In the end, I couldn't change the situation but I learned that I could tip the scales by focusing on the right things. Rather than sit around feeling bad for myself, I took advantage of the fact I suddenly had a lot of free time. I finished a double Master's degree program in 12 months thus creating a better employment… | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/10/17 08:55 AM
Being honest....anyone with kids regret divorce? I don't think I can leave them.I've been away from my son and daughter for 3 years. It's not easy. But I can say, from what I will offer below, my kids know that their dad is working hard for them and loves them with all my heart. Do your hardest to stay present in their lives. FaceTime or Skype everyday, send letters or postcards every week, stay involved by calling his teachers every month for updates on his progress. The pain never passes, but it's important you learn to cope with this. Fight in court for the time you thin… | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/09/17 11:08 PM
How do I bring up my wife threatening to ruin my career to the judge at divorce hearing? No, bring it up. But dude, you need an attorney if you've got a hostile situation. It's painful financially, but life could get a lot fucking worse with somebody that knows their shit sitting in your corner keeping you from getting pushed around. Find a way man, otherwise you may not get the desired result. | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/08/17 05:55 AM
How do I bring up my wife threatening to ruin my career to the judge at divorce hearing?I've got this in my decree that she can't harass me or contact my employer. That's easy. But start now - have your attorney send a cease and desist letter to not contact your employer or coworkers about any matters, and to stop threatening it. Then you'll have a paper trail to indicate this is a problem and concern. | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/08/17 02:46 AM

Have any of you opted to forgo a lawyer in your proceedings? If so, how did it go?Aire on the side of caution, do not trust or talk to your ex, and hire a lawyer to handle it for you. Sounds uncomplicated and doesn't appear like it'll cost a shit ton, but it could inevitably save you a shit ton. Don't sign a damn thing without an attorney. | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/08/17 07:25 AM
Need advice for friend going through divorceWrong, depends on the state. I was legally divorced (as stated in decree) for two years before getting ED and Child Support even heard. Mine was in NC - it is common there to be divorced but still have other issues pending. Regardless - the rest of your post is right. OP needs to tell his friend to get a lawyer. Went through the same thing - statement after statement because my ex thought I was hiding money. My attorney put a stop to that nonsense. | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/08/17 07:22 AM
Being honest....anyone with kids regret divorce? I don't think I can leave them. This is one of the best responses that I've ever seen. Listen to this guy OP, I've been where you are. Fast forward three very hard years, and I made it through similar to the way this individual described. Either wither in self-pity and pain for you and your children, or take positive steps. I can honestly say that although I have less time with my kids, the quality of my time with them has vastly improved without someone always screaming at me and beating me down in front of them. | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/08/17 07:19 AM
