Sometimes giving up is a rational decision, especially for men.

You’ve radicalized yourself by actively seeking out the worst examples of male behavior on the internet. Try to gain some perspective.

Is there something about being unattractive that makes you less capable of reason? If not, then your comment makes no sense.

While the selection technically is created by humans, it’s driven by biological urges. Evolutionary pressures play a much larger role in society than we’re willing to admit.

Except for certain species, that’s basically the story of biological adaptation. Certain traits are ruthlessly selected for.

I’ve seen others link statistics saying men are more obese so.... So why don’t you do your own research on the subject if you really want the answer? You’ve seen conflicting sources. Great, get to the bottom of the issue if you want to prove it definitively one way or the other.

Is this true? I thought Reddit was male dominated.

Powerlifting literally is a sport about lifting as heavy as you can - yes there’s some technique involved, but it’s not a requirement of the sport like it is in weightlifting. Yes, bodybuilding and powerlifting are different in their goals, but the physique required isn’t very different - powerlifters are basically bodybuilders with more fat. Many, many bodybuilders have been successful powerlifters, and many many powerlifters have been successful at bodybuilding. Google some powerlifters who ha…

Fair enough. Fwiw, I find steroid users to be tacky as well. At that level it’s no longer about athleticism.

Not really, the reason women don't want those body builder guys is because they're extremely boring This is the statement I took issue with in your post.

Fine. I’m just sick of the stereotype that people who take fitness seriously can’t also be thoughtful or interesting.

Yep, I understood. Most people in general are uninteresting. If you examine a small portion of the population, such as people who workout, an even smaller portion of that population will also be interesting. People who workout who are uninteresting would have been uninteresting even if they hadn’t worked out. You understand where I’m coming from? Lifting doesn’t create boring people, boring people also happen to lift.

Yeah but that’s probably just because there are less men that work out in general. I’m just trying to say that there’s nothing about working out that makes you inherently less interesting.

Cool. My point wasn’t about the specific hobbies, it was that guys that work out often have lots of diverse hobbies. Going the gym and being fit takes very little time out of your life.

I’m a guy who likes to lift, and I’ve got a lot more muscle than the average man. However, lifting is a very small part of my life. I wear baggy sweaters and tshirts, and I’m into philosophy, yoga and meditation on the side. Am I boring, or am I just a normal guy who likes to be muscular and fit? A lot of people think of gym bro culture when they think of working out, but that’s not all of us, or even most of us. All the people I hang out with lift, and we very rarely talk about it.

Bodybuilders consistently transition to powerlifting, and a lot of power lifters transition to bodybuilding. The two disciplines go hand in hand. Take a bodybuilder, give him six months to work on lifting as heavy as he can, and boom, you’ve got a powerlifter. They aren’t as far apart as people seem to think.

Yeah, we have different world-views. That’s ok, I’ve said my piece. Why don’t you believe in the pandemic?

He denied the seriousness of the coronavirus pandemic, and left his country unprepared for it. That’s just a recent example. He’s shown time after time that he’s willing to lie to further his own interests. That’s not how a leader behaves. He doesn’t care about anyone but himself.

He’s selfish. He has no concept of nationalism, he just does whatever benefits him at any given moment. He’s built his fortune on the backs of people who are enslaved to the system, you really think he cares?

You’re delusional if you think Trump will do anything to correct it. The system benefits him.

Yeah ok bud, have fun being exploited by a group of rich billionaires who haven’t worked a day in their lives. Hope it’s worth it.

Right now, liberals are the lesser of two evils. The republican party is too goddamn corrupt for me to ever support them. That being said, identity politics is a plague on modern society.

Alright, have fun getting conned by a rich moron. You really think Donald Trump gives a fuck about America? He’s just covering his own ass. He’s a selfish prick.

Why the fuck is this downvoted? He’s just expressing an opinion. I love this sub, but goddamn you guys can be toxic fucks. I agree with the sentiment as well - that was a shit excuse for a joke.
