That's already the law. The problem is that schools (and universities) have their own justice system where there is no chance to defend yourself and no jury. That being said, this boy is within his rights to sue the school and the girl.

Good point, but there's better ways to show your intentions than asking if she's taken. If you show her your intentions, she will either go along or push back (showing her intentions back). If you ask her her intentions, it unfortunately ironically comes out unconfident. Until you've escalated to some level of intimacy, the automatic response of most girls is "no", because they haven't made up their mind yet. Many girls will go out for drinks that would say yes they have a boyfriend (even if the…

Either way asking if she has a boyfriend is not a great idea. If time is important, better to escalate (ask our for drinks etc.) Something casual but what she wouldn't do if she had a boyfriend.

I disagree with this one. Sounds way too cocky.. I don't think this is a shit test. Women genuinely want to know the answer to this question.

Would you, or would you not, want a cheesecake right now? The friend in this situation is helpless, wants to improve his situation, but doesn't have the skill to. That's like giving an obese person a cheesecake when they're hungry. Of course they want it, but it will make their situation worse.

Everyone in the [first] world does eat what they want. If someone eats healthily and moderately and doesn't get obese that's because, at the end of the day, they don't want to eat pizza all day- if they did- they would. Well that's just delusional. Yes, some people eat what they want and remain a healthy weight, but many (if not the majority) of healthy weight people work hard to limit their intake.

You're thinking about it too much. Attractive girls rarely flirt unless you're already close - they get hit on all the time so unless you're more attractive than all the guys that hit on them - they have no reason to hit on you. Attractive girls tend to pick from the guys that hit on them, whereas unattractive girls work to get attention. I'm betting your social game isn't up to par with your looks yet. Practice. Flirt, meet and approach women.

what if she sues you for non contact sexual harassment. That's not going to happen. You can't successfully sue for looking at someone, you can't successfully sue for one off remarks, it's even almost impossible to sue for groping. If she doesn't flirt back, and brushes you off, don't pursue it. If you repeatedly flirt after she rejects you, then it would be harassment. You need to follow social cues. Just because SJWs say something is harassment doesn't mean the courts do.

Although I agree with you, I wanna see examples and techniques too, examples are very shallow and tend to not always transfer to other situations. Beginners tend to look for "what should I do when X happens" when really they should be focusing on self-improvement and leadership instead. Kinda like a gym beginner asking "how can I get a 6 pack" when what they really want is to look lean & muscular. A gym goer that focuses on abs for 2 years straight is going to wish they instead built a foundatio…

What you need to do is focus on social cues, try to imitate others (not literally), try things and most importantly, learn from your mistakes. Watch for how people react to what you say, if it's a good reaction, remember it. If it wasn't a good reaction, remember to not do it again. If people ignore what you said, that's a clue, don't do that again. You'll improve by trying and seeing what works and what doesn't. They want you to give them attention, that's the point of a shit test. You pass a shit test by doing the opposite of what they're directing you to do. Ex: "engineering, sounds like a boring job. I never said anything about you being entitled I apologize then, that's what my original comment was solely about (in response to OP being upset about a girls race preference 'entitlement'). I merely suggested the fact that what you think are your preferences, a decision or choice that you believe you have control over, is not inherently yours, but heavily influenced and controlled by what we see in the mainstream media. Could very well be true. Hard to tell... But am I to blame for how my uncon…

it's rude and entitled to not even consider hanging out with someone because you aren't as attracted to their race. if a black woman was attractive and into me i wouldnt turn her away, even if its not my preference. In this case she's a little blunt, but it's not just "hanging out", this is a dating app. It would be rude and inconsiderate to "hang out" with your tinder date, pretending to be attracted to someone you aren't. Am I considered rude and entitled for not even considering meeting fat g…

Perhaps; there's a lot of things that contribute to preference, but it's subconcious preference regardless. Whether you think it's fair is a different story. I wouldn't say it's an act of entitlement at all - people have preferences. I wouldn't date a fat girl, and it's probably a mix of society and genetics deciding that preference. Does that make me entitled?

I agree the grass is always greener on the other side. But I disagree that "i only date [insert race] guys" Is 100% entitlement. In general, I'm just not attracted to dark-skinned girls (black, Indian etc). Sure there are some, but I'm much more likely to be attracted to a girl of lighter skin (Caucasian, Asian). I'm not against dating black or Indian girls; I'd probably date a supermodel given the chance, but on average I don't find them as attractive. Does that make me an entitled racist? In a…

You don't have to have an advantage to get a girl. There's a social ladder; some men with a high social status and some with a low social status. Generally people date near their own social status. I guarantee there are both men and women with a lower social status than you. There are women you could get, and you can improve yourself to get even higher-ranking women. There's probably a fat ugly shy girl out there with one eye, and you'd say "oh no, not her". You don't notice the ones below your …

I know how you feel. Try to read a few pages from a book out loud. Do you jumble the words? If so, it sounds like you are saying the words before the thoughts are complete in your head. Try reading one or two words ahead of the one you're saying. Other than that, confidence through practice. Edit: yes it definitely gets easier with practice. I'm taking a school program right now full of introverts - a month of two presentations a week did wonders for our confidence.

Great advice here. I've had lots of people in my life tell me what not to do, leading me to be shy and introverted. The more I think about it, "think before you act" is terrible advice. We over-implement this saying and overthink everything. It's better to have an unpopular opinion than no opinion

If a guy thinks treating women like people means treating them like men, that says more about his view of women than his social skills. First of all, I'll reiterate who the advice "treat women like people" is directed to on this sub: Introverted men who feel they have no idea how to talk to women. Perhaps it's directed at other groups elsewhere. These introverted men feel they don't know how to talk to women because they rarely do talk to women - this statement is used to tell them that "women a…

I promise, if you actually treat women with respect, sex is almost certainly going to happen. This makes no sense at all. There are plenty of people I talk to with respect, many I would never have sex with. People can be friendly and respectful regardless of sexual desire. That being said, respect can be helpful, and there's no reason not to treat someone with respect. However, when we say "treat women like people", we don't mean "treat them with respect", we mean "talk to them as if you're not …

Gotta love taking things out of context. Of course you should treat everyone like real people, but saying so isn't helpful. Like I explained, most introverted guys will get the wrong idea and treat them like men. You're probably not going to get anywhere if you don't flirt. Obviously women are people, which is why I explained "implies we should speak to to women like men". But I'll explain what I meant further. Obviously you don't know what it's like to be an introverted guy - saying "treat wome…

I'll try to be brief, you just repeat yourself a ton in this thread with the concepts of "dont do this, its manipulative" and "just treat them like a person". I tried to do this for 22 years and had no luck with girls. You had no luck treating girls like people? I'm pretty sure treating girls like people wasn't the reason you had no luck. The phrase '[I] had no luck with girls.' is objectifying and self-centred on its own. Could it be that you were focused on having luck with girls, and using tr…

Which is exactly why there's a subreddit. A place where we can share personal experiences, what works and doesn't. In my experience, women tend to not know what they want (or rather, know what they want, but what attracts them is completely different). This seems to be the case here. Let's look at it this way. Assume there's a doctor and a cancer patient. If you want to know what method of treatment works best, who do you ask, the doctor, or the patient with cancer? Point is, the patient might b…

I apologize, I read that it was a bike shop in some other posts. after looking into it, I see that it's an NPO. But they do have paid staff, and discriminate staff, volunteers, and customers based on their sex. Being an NPO does not give them a "free pass". What you're describing is an imbalance of outcomes rather than an imbalance of inputs. Everything in life has an imbalance of outcomes, I.e. and that's reason to refuse service? Because men aren't disadvantaged in a bike shop? Aside from these event days, I assume they offer the same level of service to all customers, regardless of sex. According to provincial and federal law, the shop is not within their rights to discriminate and deny service to men, whatever the intent.

Which is what the bike shop claims. As I stated, women/trans/non-binary would have to not recieve full services from them on other non-event days in order for section 2 to apply legally.

I don't agree. This exemption in the charter applies to anyone who wouldn't otherwise have full access / services solely based on their sex. The bike shop claims that this is the case, but I highly doubt that they'd admit to not providing full services to them on other days.

I sent the following message to the bike shop from their website. I urge everyone to do the same. Voice your opinion! Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe your community events are a direct violation of Human Rights. In an effort to be diverse, you shut your doors to people solely based on their gender. Context is everything. You can't discriminate based on stats, either. That's key. (Note that this is what feminists are trying to do). If courts started ruling that Men lose all custody cases unless the mother is deemed unfit for parenting, because of a stat saying that Men are more often perpetrators of violence / abuse, would you not object? Stats are VERY often wrong, and many people blindly believe stats because they want to believe them.
/r/MensRights29/05/15 04:42 AM

Stats themselves are objective, but they're often mixed with fun things like bias and interpretation. Stats aren't always true, either. Truth is, stats can even be biased. Example 1: Assumptions can be made (like the "1 in 5" stats that are quite liberal on their meaning of "rape") Example 2: non-random selection for polling (selecting people to question assuming their opinion supports yours) Example 3: The publication of stats. if 10 studies are conducted, and one of them claims a "1 in 5" figu…

Not dissing the post, but it's impossible to be completely unbiased. If it's unbiased on a global scale (meaning the absolute average opinion globally) then it won't be unbiased locally (in your country etc). Objectivity is important for a good argument, but one can never be completely 100% objective, either. Truth is, your past experiences shape your opinions, and your perception of "unbiased" opinions/arguments.
