Caring isn't about love/relationships. I've had FWBs and I'm sure they would have had the decency to care if it happened to me. Good luck.

Do you have a hormonal IUD?? ("having birth control removed") If so, you will most likely be required to have an abortion because the fetus is unlikely to survive when it has been exposed to the hormones of the IUD in close quarters. I'm not an expert but this is what I have heard when women get pregnant with a hormonal IUD. If he cares at all for you even as a friend, and was aware of the risks, then it makes sense he would offer to help, or at least be okay with your request. I know you didn't…

Wow, that IS news to me. And frankly, it should be covered, or at least more affordable. Silliness. Way to screw the pooch on that one American Health Care System. On a better note, I got a hormonal IUD today and I'm hoping it will be fairly smooth sailing through the 2-3 months of adjustment. I hear it's the least bothersome birth control out there. Condoms are now a thing of the past for the bf and me.

Vasectomies are reversible and have little to no side effects, losing a few years of your life to weight fluctuation, mood swings, fatigue, searing leg pain and the possibility of blood clots, etc. etc. etc. brought on by synthetic hormones, now that's not reversible. I'm sorry, the trade off isn't fair for some women. It just isn't.

Of course there are going to be side effects, it's synthetic hormones and that screws with your thyroid, whether you are male or female. I for one am glad there is a possibility that the bf will have to deal with the awful side effects of birth control. It's a living nightmare. I'm ready to just get a tubal ligation and call it a day and I'm not even 30 yet.

I feel the same way, but about 9-10 men. Give me a solid 6 any day. They are generally much more funny, intelligent and waaaaaay better in bed.

Agreed. It is never right no matter what gender, I was just a tad mortified at the miscategorization. And our unfortunate physiology and statistics as women does not excuse this woman, it just makes it extra shitty to be a woman in certain place at certain times. That's all, totally unrelated but still kinda awful. I'm sure there is plenty "woe is me!" moments for the male gender, too, that have nothing to do with outright inequality and unfairness, but moreso with plain and simple, empirical re…

Physiologically speaking, it is easier for a woman to contract the disease from vaginal sex with an infected man, than the other way around. Just like every other STD, considering we are carrying a square foot mucous membrane between are legs and you have mostly skin. Let's vilify this one woman involved in a very public court case when countless women, especially in the third world, are knowingly infected through rape and deception every day. Did you know in certain parts of Africa, men believe…

As long as you have lots and lots of your own money to hire someone to help you or a very strong family support system. I am a woman and I would rather not raise a child without a man. Not as a moral/anti-feminist choice but because it is FUCKING HARD TO DO IT ALONE. I can barely take care of a dog by myself. It sounds like a NIGHTMARE to me.

Well, I tend to say things I consider, believe or buy in to so the chance that I'm doing more than just saying them is very high. I know finding a "label" on someone is an easy way to assume the kind of person they are (I'm just as guilty for sure) but ultimately people are much more complex than just the labels they use or adopt. You and me both. And I think it is a good practice to actually get to know someone first as an individual first before you completely latch on to any stereotypes or he…

uh, I say those words all the time and I consider myself a feminist. Odd. Hmmmm.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
