I totally get what you're saying. I think my biggest issue with TRP is the assertion that AWALT. Lots of women aren't like that, but as a RPer you're only going to attract women who are like that. If someone told me I was "in charge" of a relationship it would kill my attraction and I would get bored really quickly. I assume if you subscribe to RP theories that you WANT to be in charge, and thus the strategies will probably be effective for you. Different bait for different fish, ya know?

Okay, let me rephrase... Fawning over some guy that negs and runs game and considers her a plate is a huge turn off. I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with enjoying that relationship dynamic, but the sort of girl who wants that is not the sort of girl I want. It's kind of like the way you guys feel about girls that sleep around.

He's all the positive aspects of TRP without all that toxic misogyny.

Mark Manson writes some quality shit. A lot of seduction stuff, but not in a manipulative way. He's basically all the positive things the RP espouses without all the negative.

I'm not Red Pill, but I think the biggest constraint on what RP can accomplish is the type of relationships and women in general you want to attract. TRP is all about how you'll get hotter girls as an alpha, but traditional gender roles and constant mind-games are a guarantee as a RPer. Do you want an equal partner and a relationship based on love and respect in which both your opinions are equally valid? You're not going to find that with the Red Pill. If you want the sort of relationship where…

Dude, I saw a guy on RP earlier today say that MMA fighter was awesome for beating up that stupid chick he was dating. Of course we need to differentiate between sane people and insane people when discussing a group. Have you ever read Cosmo??? The sex tips alone are proof that the entire staff is batshit insane.

I don't think believing in traditional gender roles is misogyny, but I do think saying that women are all weak manipulative liars who need to be treated like children is pretty misogynistic.

While I understand where you're coming from with this post, what I see here is one side of an "Us vs Them" scenario. All the bullets you supply about socially accepted double-standards are things both sides are guilty of. I'm a female and if one of my close guy friends got cheated on and dumped I'd tell him that girl didn't deserve him and he could do better. If one of my guy friends cheated on a girl I would fully expect to hear him attempt to justify it by blaming her for his infidelity. This …

Ha! That should really be cross-stitched and hung over the sofa. Okay, so parents can give okay general advice, but I feel like a lot of people replying are expecting a boy raised by lesbians to miss out on all those sweet seduction skills that they would learn from their father. Are there seriously people learning "game" from their dads? You all have dads that are far more suave than mine.

Totally. And this debate reminds me of the time Jon Stewart went on Crossfire. Of course TBP isn't giving valuable life advice. It's a satire sub. It exists to point out the ridiculousness of TRP.

Plus, did any of our parents ever give us useful dating advice?

I was raised in a conservative Christian home with both parents. They spent my entire childhood telling me that god hated gay people and AIDS was a blessing because it would cure the Earth of the disease of homosexuals. And I'm a lesbian. You can affect how your children behave to some extent, but you cannot change who they ARE. My parents found plenty of ways to damage us without being gay. Most parents do, no matter how good their intentions are.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
