“?” “Is this the part where I say you look pretty & that we should go out?” “😍 but how’d it go tho” “Random thing about her clothes or makeup or something” You should probably send her a picture tho, she’s probably trying to remember who you are

When you already believe something, and actually have evidence for it, it doesn't seem so unreasonable to dismiss most contradictory evidence that isn't obviously insurmountable. If someone said they had a proof that 0=1, would you be willing to actually sift through it and find the error? If someone told you that they had a blueprint for a perpetual motion machine, would you actually take the time out of your day to sit down and look through it, or, god forbid, actually try to build one? So if …

Genetics is a multidimensional thing that doesn't have an ordering in almost all cases. I work at a mental hospital. One of our clients is insanely good-looking. He looks like a caveman and has a normal, handsome face. He would easily be male model material if he weren't severely autistic. He can't talk, performs some weird guttural vocal tic every 5 seconds, and can't dress or wipe himself. As gay as it sounds, it's also true: things other than looks matter. Significantly. I would rather have c…

It's the same. All dating advice is "be the kind of man a woman wants." The difference between the schools of thought is a disagreement about what exactly that is.

I think there are some good points in it, but I also think the person who wrote it is angry, bitter, and biased. I agree with his opinion, but I don't think the justification he provided is satisfactory. Let's see why: In modern western culture, men are held to higher moral standard. He's definitely wrong, as 1. it certainly doesn't seem as if men are not held to higher moral standards; 2. the OP has probably not actually thought about what this means. Men are held to different moral standards t…

You should keep in mind that Peterson, by his own admission, has a high degree of agreeableness. He’s also forced into a position where he’s constantly being attacked, both intellectually and personally, and having to defend himself in the public spotlight. That’s hell for an agreeable person. He’s under far more stress than most people, and he’s not cut out for it.

What are your subscores? What IQ test did you take? Is there anything that might have prevented you from performing as well as possible when tested? If your IQ is really that low, your language skills are the only things you can work with. I would assume your verbal IQ is at least about average, which is the best you can do. If your IQ is really as low as 75, and your language skills are about average, your other skills are probably significantly lower than 75. You're intellectually disabled. …

Just be cool. People are often not as machiavellian as TRP can make it seem. Start hanging out with chillers who fuck, are good at sports, and are the kind of people you’d like to kick it with. You don’t have to—and shouldn’t—stop hanging out with your nerdy friends. If you grow apart, whatever, shit happens. But if you ditch them to be “cool”, you’re gonna feel like shit, and people will notice. Don’t try too hard. If you’re good at sports, other athletes are gonna wanna hang out with you. If y…

Yes, I have some female friends who I’ve kicked it with for years by now. I haven’t fucked any of them, nor have I really ever noticed the relationship as anything other than platonic. That said, I’ve also never tried to get at any of them, and I’ve dated/hooked up with a lot of their friends, so maybe they would jump on my dick if I ever acknowledged it as a possibility.

Yeah, not to mention the fact that most of the redpillers I’ve seen don’t even seem to fully understand their ideology and apply it in imperfect, contradictory, amoral or immoral ways. Like the dudes who say you need to be outcome independent so you can get pussy, all with a straight face. Or the ones who say “sexual strategy is amoral” and forgot to read their own sidebar where it says, “it’s up to you to choose how to use TRP.” Judging from what I’ve seen people act like after diving in, it se…

It doesn’t make any sense for people to try to be this dude. Then again, I’d like to think that most people aren’t. Herman Göering was a talented pilot, but an evil human being. I don’t think USAFA cadets are trying to be like him just because they wanna fly fighters, too. I would really like to believe that most people on this sub are trying to emulate some of these aspects, but not the clearly shitty, unethical ones. That’s more than a weird move; it’s fucked up and incredibly psychologically …

I’m just saying, this would explain why a lot of redpillers complain so much about BPD women.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/19 09:10 AM

Yeah, that’s actually true. Which is why I’m starting to think that TRP is a toxic ideology that very few people seem to truly understand. It’s a shame because, if properly understood, I think it’s actually really beneficial. Sexual strategy is amoral, actions are not. It seems like very few people stop to read the part of the sidebar that says it’s up to you to decide how to use it, and everyone thinks that parroting that line means they can’t be judged for their actions.

You can repeat that until you’re blue in the face, but it doesn’t excuse the fact that this man is a grade-A piece of shit. Whether or not he gets laid is irrelevant.

That doesn’t mean he isn’t a piece of shit. This is unethical behavior, period, full stop. Whether or not he’s an attractive dude is irrelevant.

Saying PPD is gender studies is more like saying playing battleship is naval strategy: I mean, it is, but it’s not good strategy. Similarly, all the online “pills” are also gender studies, just not good gender studies. That’s not meant to deride them, though, seeing as how it’s exceedingly difficult to do good sociology and that’s too much to expect from people who don’t do it for a living.

They... kinda do, though. A study from the Naval postgraduate school showed that the personality inventory in the ASTB was the single part of the test that best predicted performance in flight school. IQ remains highly correlated with college majors, SAT acores, and academic performance. It’s not a perfect measure, nor is it reliable on the individual level. But over averages and wide swaths of the population, it has its uses. People who are not experts are constantly misusing tools they don’t u…

No, it doesn’t, and TRP seems to work. But wouldn’t it be nice to have a way to put an estimate of one’s SMV based on other numbers like height, income, BMI, IQ, etc.? Just because it doesn’t need numbers doesn’t mean that they wouldn’t be useful or interesting.

I’m not sure if I’d dismiss psychology as useless pseudoscience. There are various psychological concepts that are pretty useful in terms of both descriptive and predictive power: modern personality assessments and IQ tests, for example, are very useful tools that can be used to make quantitatively substantiated descriptions and predictions. Granted, there’s a lot of ideological bias in the social sciences, but they have proven themselves to be useful in various cases, so I’m hesitant to dismiss…

I’m not sure what you mean by not explaining the topic. People just find pleasure intrinsically good. They do because they do; most people don’t give deep philosophical thought to their day-to-day actions. It doesn’t matter whether or not pleasure IS intrinsically good in an objective sense, not for this question. The only relevant thing is that people act as if it is.

There are biological influences that make wealth, status, etc. pleasurable. Most people find that pleasure is intrinsically good, and thus chase it and the things that bring it about. Those who don’t find pleasure intrinsically valuable or who find that the pursuit of wealth, status, etc. isn’t worth it don’t chase these things. Some people have found that drugs are far more effective; others value a spartan existence devoid of anything beyond the bare necessities. It’s up to you what you want t…

Exactly. There isn’t such a thing as a “personal” and “professional” life. You have only one life. What you do in your personal life affects your career and what you do in your career affects your personal life. I’m not sure how this is a difficult concept, but here we are. Or did you think you could join the Klan and work at Buzzfeed and they’d be ok with it?
/r/askTRP08/06/19 07:01 AM

No, you’re not. The fact that you have a wife and kids that are suspiciously never around and don’t wanna meet anyone is gonna make you look even more untrustworthy than being single. That shit’s weird.

Yeah, I totally think people are such retards for not having a BS in physics. I hate them so much that I’m gonna criticize the system that calls them retards for not having one! That totally makes sense. You can be a skeptic and say it’s just my opinion all you want, but that doesn’t change the obvious fact that college is an expectation, as foregoing it is a deficit to a large majority of Americans. Uneducated is a slur; what does that tell you?
/r/askTRP05/06/19 02:50 PM

For sure. If you do come here, make sure it’s a good fit for you personally. The Bay Area, for example, is super competitive and everyone expects a 200 IQ. The south is a bit more chill, but you still need to compete. Not all of the US is shitty, but enough of it is, compared to Europe. Don’t go off of what I say, but definitely research the culture. Look at this subreddit. It’s all American dudes competing with each other for girls who are assumed to constantly be competing for men. The very na…

Look, dude, I’m gonna be completely honest here: America sucks. Unless you’re type-A, insanely driven, and genuinely smarter and more talented than your peers, it’s a shitty deal. European cultures seem to place more emphasis on leisure than we even think is possible. You can make a fortune here, but you probably won’t. Unless you have big dreams, stay in Europe. We hate average.

Because the supply and demand allows it. Over here, if you don’t go to college, you’re stupid. Period. There’s a very real social expectation of you to go to college, and if you don’t, you must be a complete retard. Since nobody wants to be below average, everyone goes to college. Since everyone goes to college, colleges can and do charge more. Because you have to pay it, unless you’re stupid. To add onto this, college is sold as an experience in the US. You’re not only there to get an education…

As an actual psycho (ASPD), that probably means you’re acting like a piece of shit with no morals. This subreddit specifically bans moralizing, and only discusses the philosophy in terms of its (amoral) effectiveness, which is cool and interesting, and alright as long as it’s an academic discussion. I won’t lie: I don’t always think highly of trp as a philosophy beyond its clear effectiveness, but that’s besides the point. However, when you’re actually doing things in real life, ethics are very …
