I have a feeling that we won't be warned that this sub will be deleted. I feel like it will get nuked without warning, leaving us all scrambling to find ways to communicate with other MRAs. Do we have a backup plan? IRC channel, or something like that?

I quite like the term used in this article, "pop feminism". It might be half strawman, half "no true Scotsman", but I feel like it really hits nail in the head. In terms of the feminist media machine, at least.

Start job searching for something else. Now. Record conversations (if legal where you live). Document everything. Choose your battles.
/r/MensRights01/05/15 09:19 PM

Oh man, if only it was a comment thread instead of a PM. If you can't convince them, you can usually convince the audience. Also, OP, if you ever talk to this person again, ask them when its okay to be racist for a better cause. :)

So... Was nobody Googling this stuff before a few years ago?
/r/MensRights29/04/15 04:01 AM

The sluts vs studs debate easily plays into traditional gender roles. The idea is that men always want sex more than women. With that in mind, men have to work more for sex, hence the positive spin of "stud". A woman who has lots of sex "doesn't have to work for it", and is simply being over indulgent. Therefore she's a "slut".

So in those red states, you need to get consent from anyone being recorded? That's useless when you need to catch them in the act.
/r/MensRights27/04/15 10:54 AM
4

When you take the issue to your boss, record that conversation, as well. If it doesn't go over well, take the new recording to HR. If HR won't touch it, you need a new job.
/r/MensRights27/04/15 10:51 AM

Organize with the men in the office. Get as many as you can to object on the same ground the women did. If HR does nothing, go over their head. (ACLU, maybe? IANAL.)

I once got kicked out of a bar because a girl said I said mean things to her. We were sitting at the front of the bar, the bouncer could see us the whole time. We had a disagreement over a seat, it didn't even get heated. 5 minutes later, the bouncer signals me over to him and asks me to leave. I literally got kicked out over false accusations of hurting her feelz. Fuckin A, man.

Tell him when you're circumcised, you lose 30% of the nerves in the tip of your penis. Your sons' future sex lives will be 30% more enjoyable if you leave them uncut. Also, it's not too hard to clean. It literally takes like 10 seconds. It's just another body part when showering.

I was thinking, maybe we should prepare for next year. Let's hijack the day before equal pay day next year as a day to spread awareness of the lie that is the wage gap.

Here's our chance for the spotlight! If she claims to be making gendered issues most of her platform, we have to bombard her with men's rights issues. Either she admits to feminist pandering BS, we successfully call her out on pandering, or our squeaky wheel finally gets some grease!

It bleeds into the differences with body positivity between genders in general. Women are constantly told they're beautiful from a young age, but men stop getting that once they reach adolescence. Consequently, women are more likely to celebrate their beauty then men.

I don't watch the channel, but the one time I saw one of those shows, this happened exactly how you mentioned it, OP. Because off such a small sample size, I was willing to write off this episode, but if it always happens, that's not cool.

Speak up, and let not the fear stop you any more. no girls on the internet Hmm. Maybe that's why tumblrinas have the tendency to immediately label themselves on their pages. They want the identity, and for their words to have meaning, while the rule points out that the two are mutually exclusive. They want to have their cake and eat it, too.

The line is when we encourage readers of this sub to contact the twitter users in question about it, which we obviously shouldn't. Pointing out someone is a hypocrite is one thing, harassing them about it is another.

Hmm. I disagree. Simply because it doesn't say "not all men are rapists" at some point doesn't mean that is saying the opposite. There's literally no indication that it's saying "all men are evil", so to me it's not vilifying all men. But it must be true because... um... our feelings are hurt? What are we, SJWs? Jesus, grow a pair. Obviously it's speaking of male rapists (to say nothing of the opposite happening, but that's another issue admittedly along the same vein), so if you haven't raped a…

/r/MensRights12/02/15 09:37 PM

Hate to say it, but I think it depends on whether you're a man or woman. A woman falsely accused of rape would probably receive better due process than a man would. While getting raped would suck either way, there is more support socially for female rape survivors.

I have to wonder if they watched the movie with intent to find a feminist slant against it. In the scene mentioned in the article in which Sam "chooses herself" over others, she had actually neglected to pick up her younger brother Mason, the main character, from school. Is the author seriously saying that its okay to neglect family if it makes you happy? Because that's exactly what Sam does.
/r/MensRights08/02/15 07:48 PM

The obvious rebuttal is that those parents ate suffering from internalized misogyny, and it's still patriarchy's fault. You can't refute this argument. Convenient, ain't it?

Why does it matter so much to them when it's a video game, but not for everything else? Because it's interactive. That's the only (other) good reason* I can think of. It's one thing to see a rape happen in a movie, its another to "do" it yourself. They don't understand that videogames are an artform unto itself, and that there's a story being told, just like in a movie or TV show. *to them, at least.

From the link: Nowadays, you can’t suggest that a woman watch her drink, avoid getting blackout drunk or to walk in well-lit areas without being accused of victim-blaming. It suddenly occurs to me just how entrenched the victim mentality is in feminism. You can't advise someone with ways to not become a victim without "victim blaming". Except... They're not victims. Trying to help them not become a victim is blaming them? But no fault has yet occurred. What exactly are they a victim of if they h…

I agree it needs to stop. I just don't think the student/teacher dynamic is a situation in which cultivating change is likely, given how easily it's abused by one in power. I don't think the risk if worth the reward. Curious how /r/mensrights typically agrees debating SJWs isn't worth it, but the second you give that advice to somebody who's already decided to, you're a Class A douchebag. Just saying.

It also seems like, no matter which route a man takes, feminists could turn as something predatory/misogynistic. If a guy takes her home, maybe he's stalking her or leading her home to rape her there. If you call someone she knows, it might be condescending to her because she's a woman. If you call the cops, it's the patriarchy in effect. If you call her a cab and pay for it out of your pocket, then you're putting her in danger and shouldn't have left her alone with some random cab driver. If yo…

Your teacher probably doesn't care about logic. He may or may not understand your logic, but his job isn't dependent on making good people out of students, it's dependent on drilling state-mandated curriculum into your skull. Actually studying a topic critically probably doesn't fit into his lesson plan. Remember, teachers are human, too.

Sorry, I was in a hurry for both comments. I meant to clarify what I meant in the first comment. Obviously extreme cases are the exception to the rule. If I have to fight for my life, I will. But if my life isn't in danger, if there are no extenuating circumstances, I would rather do everything in my power to remove myself from the situation.
