That's because these two ideologies click perfectly. If women as purely emotional beings cannot be trusted to make rational decisions, they need to be governed by men, and if such women are given voting rights, workplace opportunities and other kinds of independence, this should only be possible because of a huge conspiracy against traditional Western society. A full-blown Nazism is just one step away from this.

Wow, the first link is a horror shitstorm of a relationship. If someone does this to you, just cut the asshole out of your life, because it will only get worse.

If you're interested in a perspective from the opposite side, I'm often tempted to use silent treatment when something doesn't go my way. Overtime I've learned to resist these urges, but sometimes this BS of 'I'll withdraw my attention so that they realize how incorrect they are and how bad I feel about their behavior' still enters my mind. It takes a rational effort to overcome it, when going silent feels very natural.

That's too obvious. I'd ask something like 'how do you think a healthy couple should function'? RP victim won't be able to miss such an opportunity to preach.

Sorry, but this is simply not true. All studies show that people in long-term relationships are consistently happier than single people.

Well, if a guy tries to befriend a girl with an ulterior motive of getting into her pants at some point in future instead of forming a lasting genuine friendship, I cannot call it anything but 'beta orbiting'.

On a weird note, these same people always preach about never going down on a girl. I will eat whatever I please, you sorry-ass wackos.

Yeah, totally. It's okay to want to have sex daily, it's okay to want it once a year, but it's definitely not okay to force yourself into a relationship which won't work on this very basic level because of some made-up thing like 'she's the one' or 'I won't ever find anyone better anyway'.

Other replies here tell about ways to cope with your situation. That's fine if for some reason you'd like to do that, but I think that people in a relationship should be sexually compatible. If they're not, they'll spend a huge chunk of their mental energy on coping instead of simply doing the sex thing and going on with the rest of their lives.

Schadenfreude indeed. It might feel good, but it's not a positive emotion.

Fun fact: you look exactly like an older brother of my old schoolmate and he gets laid like crazy. If I were you, I'd keep up the effort of losing extra weight and wouldn't care about anything else.
/r/ExRedPill14/01/21 01:05 PM

I think their exchange was ultimately pointless. They have different needs, and the guy for some reason assumes that every man wants to have kids in some future moment of a relationship, which is obviously not always the case.

I will probably get flakked for this, but RP has one advantage over the general consensus in the modern media and academia: it acknowledges the fact that men and women are different, at least in terms of their mating strategies. What they do with this fact and how they twist it is another matter, but for someone who's been told over and over how men and women are exactly the same, and yet sees evidence against this every single day, RP might look like an eye-opener indeed.
/r/ExRedPill13/01/21 11:52 AM

It's a confirmation bias. When you see some guy without a girlfriend, you notice some positive qualities he has (because everyone has some if you look close enough) and conclude that 'nice guys never get laid'. While doing this, you completely ignore men with similar qualities who actually have girlfriends. Take a good look at the exact steps of your evaluation in these situations.

Same way as scientists do: Come up with a hypothesis about reality Figure out how this hypothesis can predict outcomes of uncertain events Go outside to actually observe these events and see whether your hypothesis has any prediction value I'm not saying that RP theory prediction value is zero, after all even a broken clock shows a correct time twice a day. But it's really low, and certainly too low to base any life-changing decisions upon it.

An honest reality check will thoroughly debunk any set of RP beliefs. Problem here is that it's very hard to make proper reality checks when you have a strong and emotionally charged confirmation bias, and your online buddies reinforce it with their constant cheering.

First of all, 'I will never find X' is irrational thinking in its purest form. 'I will never find X because I've never had any X before' is equally irrational, although at first it looks as making more sense. If you take a good look around, you'll notice that all kinds of men date and marry all kinds of women. People tend to stick to their league in terms of looks and class, scenarions like 'settling down for an average joe after the wild years' happen too, but there's no universal rule here.
/r/ExRedPill12/01/21 07:04 AM

If you would like to date women who are into something you personally are not, I'm afraid no amount of any kind of pill will help you. Sure, you can fake being 'an alpha' for some time, but pretending to be someone you're not is extremely exhausting and will ruin you in the long run. Instead of that look for someone who could be attracted to a real you, or at least to a better version of who you are now.
/r/ExRedPill11/01/21 07:49 PM

Depends on the definition.

This. I personally love submissive girls (not passive or repressed, mind you, more like soft and yielding). However, I have enough brain cells to understand that behaving this way is a personal choice and I cannot shame anyone who doesn't want it into being submissive.
/r/ExRedPill08/01/21 08:30 PM
6

Good point. I'd just add that RP is extremely conditional, i.e. you're only 'a real man' if you get laid and pass a whole lot of other arbitrary checkmarks. It doesn't care about a rich multitude of human experience, and it completely lacks any trace of compassion, humility and understanding without which a healthy masculinity simply cannot exist.

Yeah, a stable monogamous couple is proven to be the best possible environment for bringing up kids. Problem is, family as a universal social institution is dying pretty fast, and there are no viable alternatives in sight yet.
/r/ExRedPill05/01/21 04:54 PM

Something is off about the math here, although I cannot quite put my finger on it. In any case, online dating is a situation where women choose between multiple alternatives, so it'd be weird if the balance wouldn't have been skewed in their favor.

Different people like different kinds of porn, nobody forces you to watch stuff you don't like, and not all porn caters to your stereotypical jock fantasy. And personally, for me ethical porn also serves as an inspiration to try new things in bed (with full consent of all parties involved ofc).
/r/ExRedPill04/01/21 01:08 PM

Porn promotes all the worst sexual fantasies as normal What do you mean by 'the worst'? You seem to be dangerously close to RP ideas of degeneracy here.

What made me stop following this 'advice' was a realization that all these theories are inherently unfalsifiable and thus non-scientific. So, if I choose between different equally non-scientific foundations for my behavior, I'd rather choose one which doesn't make me hate other people and generally be a dick. Just because, you know, being a dick ruins your life sooner or later.

People can do all kinds of stuff. I can drive to my work now and spend 8 hours there handling all kinds of weird-ass IT tasks (which I will do now btw), or I can go and buy meth or some opiates, and have several hours of intense pleasure instead. Some people would definitely choose the latter, while I personally always choose the former.

Men like that are a minority. I don't think they waste their time on tinder, and even if they do, I think your girl is smarter than being their one-night stand.

Jordan Peterson is a tragic figure, if you ask me. Deconstructing your own mind for research is hard as it is, and doing so in a hostile environment is really damaging. No wonder he ended up with mental issues.

You assume lots of things too. For example, you assume that 'just do it bruh' is helpful advice for people with ruined self esteem, zero motivation and lots of irrational beliefs. I'm not here to argue and I understand that your post is well-intentioned though.

I applaud your achievement, but for someone like OP who I think already has some kind of a mood disorder your words are utterly useless. Your life bursts with energy, while they need to muster all their strength to get up in the morning.

I think you should stop thinking about other people (women included) and think about yourself. Does this belief make you happier?
/r/ExRedPill28/12/20 01:17 PM

Because if you can’t take care of yourself how can you take care of someone else. This. Also, unhappy parents create unhappy children, and single parents consistently show lower happiness scores in the studies I've seen.

Sorry if I sound like a troll, I'm asking all this because I will move soon and I will need to find new friends in a new city. To be honest with you, I am kind of at a loss about which exact activities I should do with other people and why would they even tolerate me in the first place.

I agree with your post, but this day and age there are not a lot of 'social activities' available. We don't have church holidays or village feasts anymore, and many modern pastimes like hitting the gym or playing poker don't always mean getting to know new people beyond a very superfluous acquaintance. It's better when you're in high school or any other place with lots of young single people, but after that it gets way harder.

I will probably get downvoted into oblivion for this, but being a promiscuous man and a promiscuous woman is not even remotely in the same ballpark in terms of required effort and skill. I do not judge anyone, mind you, I just want to point out that for men it's a lot harder.
/r/ExRedPill23/12/20 06:16 PM

You massively overcomplicate things and pay too much attention to what some people say online instead of what the majority does. Basically, women like men. Start by being physically present in places where there are single women.
/r/ExRedPill22/12/20 08:03 AM

I'm so sorry you had to go through this. I try to be understanding with cult victims but people like your ex make my blood boil when I imagine how much pain and suffering they cause and how many good women start disliking men or having trust issues after unfortunate encounters with these fuckwits.
/r/ExRedPill19/12/20 03:14 PM
11

Mathematically speaking, you're correct, but you seem to forget about the fact that having lots of casual encounters often leaves women unhappy by proving to them that they cannot find 'a decent man', and even ruins their reputation in some societies.
/r/ExRedPill18/12/20 12:03 PM

dating as a women is easier than dating as a man No. Finding casual sex is easier for women, but dating and especially building lasting genuine relationships is equally challenging for both men and women.
/r/ExRedPill18/12/20 10:36 AM
1

I'm a man, although a rather skinny one and I don't threaten people much. I do not want to make any woman feel uncomfortable That's a really good starting point, but it doesn't mean that you should not interact with them at all. If a woman gets uncomfortable in your presence, you will most probably notice it right away if you're not caught up in the tangle of your thoughts and actually pay attention to her. The moment you back off, she can realize that you don't pressure her into anything.

I just don't wanna come off as a creep Then try to figure out the difference between overtly sexual words and actions and a kind of a flirty shadow play where on the surface you do something competely innocent but both you and your girl know what really is going on. It's hard to explain this though and I cannot show you a blueprint to do this, it's all very individual. What's important - don't confuse this with RP manipulation and hidden agendas.

This. If you try to find a middle ground between two kinds of trash, you can end up in 'eh-its-not-so-trashy-but-its-still-kinda-trash' zone. THe answer lies in a completely different direction.

'Becoming an extravert' is not possible, sorry. Sure, you can fake its outward appearance for some time, but if your brain is not wired that way, this will bring you only exhaustion and unhappiness. I've never read Models but it's mentioned in RP community so often that I've always assumed it to be yet another list of manipulative tricks to get what you want from women. Am I mistaken?

In fact, nothing about this story actually confirms any RP dogmas about women. Yes, she had sex with her ex and enjoyed it, so what? As I understand it, she did not cheat on her present partner. I just pity the author of this story (if it's real). Not because someone has longer dick than he does, but because his self-esteem is so fragile that it can be completely ruined by a couple of videos. If someone fully embraces the 'blackpill' mindset, no advice from the outside can really change or even sway such a person. Therapy might help if they decide to start it for some reason, some life-changing event can make them snap out of it, but generally it's a black hole where you can only fall deeper and there are no healthy lines of reasoning leading out of it.

I don't like this metaphor at all. Dogs have owners, and these owners can decide pretty much everything concerning their dogs (within the legal limits). If you want your dog to behave in a certain way, you just make sure it happens using training, treats and sometimes even punishment. This surely doesn't apply to relationships of two adult people.

Just watch how the person behaves. Do they flirt with anyone else in your presence (and by 'flirt' I mean pretty obvious things, not something a nice guy's brain can construct out of thin air), do they respect you, your time and your choices, how they tell you about the exciting things in their past, and so on and so forth. If you keep your eyes open, you won't miss the red flags.

it encourages men to build up their entire sense of self worth and identity around how sexually successful they are with women I think RP doesn't invent anything new here, it just stresses some patriarchal ideas, beliefs and values men internalize during their socialization. Cool and popular guys have girlfriends, weirdos sit alone at school etc. Men get used to external validation and feel inadequate and insecure without it.

Videos of this kind are well-intentioned but completely useless. When some moron starts talking about the wall, I always remember a business English teacher from my uni. Some women surely have promiscuous behavior. Some men do too. What's important for you is to have a solid feeling of self-worth to avoid getting involved with such people, and believe me, you usually can tell someone who cheats if you're not behind many layers of denial and wishful thinking. The most important part of relationships is mutual trust, respect and understanding, and if you don't want both of you to suffer, you just provide these things unconditionally on your end. My advice would be to try to engage in your hobbies in a way that helps you meet people. That's a really good post. However, to cope with this uncertainty, they promise one another that social interaction can be perfectly explained and conquered with the right rules and formulas. Once you adopt these formulas, you will never suffer again. This in fact is a very understandable human reaction to uncertainties of life. Just invent an all-encompassing theory, and your practical problems won't exist anymore. Sounds great, but never actually works.

Why do redpillers think people who don't talk and act like them can't get laid? Because they didn't see this happening in their pre-rp lives when they were timid, lacking in initiative or just plain boring, and they don't see any examples of non-manipulative men being successful with women since tbh I've never seen a bona fide redpiller who has a large social circle.

given the proper support and environment, you could have turned around your sense of « need » for romantic intimacy and lived a fulfilling celibate life That's true, this is basically what people in monasteries in the West and in the East have been doing for centuries: cutting off their 'biological' impulses to transform their personality and become someone exalted. There are methods to do this, there are detailed guides. Question is: do you really want to cut something from your life to avoid i…

I also think it’s a strong dating advice to feel less urged to find a partner. It helps with upkeeping standards, it reduces dating related anxiety and it frees up time and mental space to grow and be your better, therefor more attractive, self. That's right, needy people are not very attractive. Just don't cross that thin line between not looking too desparate and trying to trick yourself into believing you don't actually need romantic intimacy.

So unless it's a matter of life and death, like eating, drinking and sleeping, I don't give a goddamn fuck about what biology urges me to do. If I'm a slave to biology, and I'm not happy with it, I'm gonna use every fucking loophole I can find to get where I want and check-mate it. Well put. However, I don't wanna judge for everyone but personally I'm a lot happier in a relationship than when I'm single, and it's not only about having sex whenever I feel like it. Because partiarchy conditions not only women but men too. In this system, you're worthy as a man only if you meet a list of certain requirements, the most important of which is your physical strength and courage i.e. the ability to defend your 'turf' using violence. This tradition provides clear answers which are still emotionally charged but which are not relevant anymore, and modern men often yearn for that kind of simple certainty in our increasingly uncertain world.

The most important realization for me was that there's no universal human pecking order. Hierarchies do exist, but they are multi-dimensional, often hidden or covert, always in flux. Nobody is objectively better as a human being than the next person, and everyone needs to be judged individually.

Anger is a part of the healing process only if it's a healthy and pure emotion caused by some immediate event, like losing a loved one. This kind of anger can't last forever, and overtime it transforms into later stages of grief. The difference here is that RP anger is not caused by any immediate event. On the contrary, it's caused by irrational beliefs and dysfunctional attitudes in the mind of its victim, who is only fanning the flames of his rage by constantly ruminating about these beliefs.

counter narratives That's the very problem. Having friendships and just talking to people is not 'a narrative', it's just a normal way of living. Some time ago I've read this interesting French book, "Extension du domaine de la lutte". Its premise basically is that market competition used to exist only in the actual markets before, and private life was ruled by traditions and hierarchical institutions like the church or large family, and while these things cau…

Often they have to carry the burden of financially taking care of (his own) parents, his own family and the family of his wife. Keeping in mind the cost of living in some Asian countries, this is just insane. Eventually we will reach a point where people do not need to tie their self-worth to how many partners they can attract, because society will see having a partner (or not) as something banal I'd respectfully disagree. That would probably work in some isolated affluent society, but in the gl…

Looks like you're still objectifying women, after all.

our friendship initiated on the grounds of being completely sexually disinterested Why wouldn't it? Your sexual needs were satisfied elsewhere, there was no pressure in this regard, and platonic relationships developed freely and without effort. It's a huge myth that men always think about sex no matter what, and I think you can guess what kind of people create and reinforce that myth. But again, if a man is not satisfied with his current sexual life or has none altogether, it's really hard for …

I don't mean to devalue your experience, but you need to understand that as an American in Eastern Europe you had immense amounts of social value. Yes, your friends sticked with you because they realized that you're a nice human being, but the initial attraction was their attraction to an educated, well-mannered and tall foreigner. I'm afraid this experience won't translate into anything relatable for an average Joe living in his hometown, where no woman (or man, for that matter) gives him a sec…

You rationalize too much. And nobody really expects you to do anything, everyone is preoccupied with themselves.

I won't judge for everyone, but I can tell you that for me going to the gym for the first time at 30 was one of the best decisions in my life. Not because I bulked up and improved my posture (I did), but because it teaches you discipline, patience and perseverance. You get sore, you become fatigued, you experience laziness attacks, and then you show up no matter what and your willpower and self-respect grows a little.

I'd say that MGTOW is a final evolutionary stage of every intellectually honest redpiller. If you perceive women as mindless automatons incapable of human connection, it's only logical to decide to avoid them.

It took me 6 months to get her on a date Should've stopped after a week. Attraction should be mutual.

Like it or not, psychological differences between genders are real. Masculinity does not bode well with pity from others, even if they are well-meaning.

Suddenly, I'm questioning everything I ever really thought That's actually a good thing. If you never re-evaluate and question your values and opinions, they become rigid and hence weak. I feel sorry for him Never feel sorry for men. We're not little girls or kittens. Even if he's in a dark place now, it can become his incentive to grow.

a rational person who seeks to understand things not just for the sake of strenghtening his/her ideology People like that never end up trapped in toxic ideologies. Instead of focusing on rational weaknesses of rp theory (and I agree that it doesn't hold water), try to understand its emotional appeal for socially unsuccessful people. That would be a lot more useful.

fairly strong with a relatively muscly build. I’m currently self-employed with my online ecommerce store, currently completing a bachelors in commerce That's a good start. I’m kinda getting to the stage where most of my friends are in serious relationships and no matter how much I try to convince myself, I find myself lonely to a degree That's perfectly natural, don't suppress your emotions. Just remember that different people act differently on their negative emotions - some use them to wallow …

Girls are the pickers more often than not so instead of waiting until she feels the urge to choose someone through overt signals, you yourself can flip the script and choose who you want now Dunno mate, sounds good in theory, but imagine the amount of pickup attempts in an average day of an average girl. My gf gets hit on constantly, and it really annoys her. I doubt that girls who are not in relationships atm treat these people any better. Mind you, if you're in some bar and she's alone, rules …

Regardless of what he says, I think the chances of people from PUA movement to really date their "prime demographics" are really slim. PUA shit is not some novel thing nobody is aware of, young women these days have an instant negative reaction to these manipulative tactics. When a 30+ "Pick-up artist" hits on a 18 y.o. girl, a creep factor joins in as well.

Let's be honest here, in many places of the world rent market is fucked beyond belief. I live with my gf now, and we spend roughly 30% of our higher-than-average income on a one bedroom apartment near my office. I'd save A LOT of money if I lived with my parents just outside of the city, and I can totally understand people who opt for this. At least they can save money to buy their own apartment of a house.
