The American Heritage Stedman's Medical Dictionary states, "Pedophilia is the act or fantasy on the part of an adult of engaging in sexual activity with a child or children."[10] This common use application also extends to the sexual interest in and abuse of pubescent or post-pubescent minors. Sexual maturity has nothing to do with emotional and mental maturity. This is why sex with a minor is illegal in the US. Because an adult can take advantage of children very easily, whether or not their bodies are "sexually mature." Most of us, fortunately, have a little internal voice that screams: "Don't you fucking even go there.
