I really appreciate that. This one got away from me.

I cannot nor would I want to argue against the fact that the taser bearing cops were unnecessary, out of line, etc. However I don't have much beef with the first stop beside the fact that the first cop was incompetent and her realization of this resulted in her escalating it all into the event the second stop was. I know this man did nothing wrong. I'm failing to communicate the sentiment I was trying to convey with my initial comment and don't think I have much chance of succeeding. Let me just…

Saying I wouldn't do something does not mean I think it is child abuse or neglect. I went to highschool in Keene and never thought that it was child abuse when I would have football practice or walk home from school. But living in South Texas you don't see many people out walking when it is less than 40 degrees out. It's an odd thing, thats why i called the cops ;-)

I did not suggest that. I don't know if "we" are. I am subscribed to this reddit for a reason. I found this guy's case to be below the threshold of things that make me fly into a rage. It's my goddamn neighborhood and understanding the people here and the atmosphere the cops are operating in when they come this far East made me feel that in this case that "yeah the cops were incompetent but a small stop was warranted after the call." I'll cede the argument from here on out. I am glad to have thi…

I never really thought of what a toddler is. I just used it as a blanket term for a small child. Don't really think what language I used has much to do with the point I was making.

Let me just go ahead and make a point myself rather than let you misinterpret the info I provided and make one for me. It's cold enough out for it to be unusual to see a man with a SMALL CHILD walking at night. It's a neighborhood which the cops and anybody with access to the internet know has a large population of sex offenders. That situation combined with his perceived behavior by one of our neighbors resulted in a call to the police and they responded. The second response was over the top of…

Weird. This is my neighborhood. It was damn cold Friday night, I wouldn't be walking with a toddler. Also it's not the safest neighborhood in Austin, there are houses on adjacent streets that have more than 4 sex offenders living in them.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
