Wife wanted an exception to the ruleGood on you for keeping your family out of a shit show like this. Don’t cave in once this enevitably turns bad. I can see him doing even worse things once he’s been left for real. | /r/askMRP | 13/05/23 04:48 AM
Own Your Shit Weekly - May 09, 2023Hosting a singular, social event is not the same as you going to work every day, is it? Your butthurt over this is showing very clearly. Calm or not. You expected her to come home at a certain hour but didn’t tell her, got mad, told her, and then said you didn’t want to talk about it anyway. | /r/MarriedRedPill | 10/05/23 03:43 PM
Own Your Shit Weekly - May 09, 2023So your wife failed to live up to something you had in your mind - e.g. not assertively communicated - about her behavior? And you got pissy and bitched about it. What do we call these things again? | /r/MarriedRedPill | 10/05/23 02:32 PM
Own Your Shit Weekly - May 09, 2023Haven't slept properly most days and that's becoming a problem for me. I keep waking up at night because of my son is also sleeping poorly. I don't get enough sleep and the next day I am too tired to work out. C'mon now. Let's set aside the fact that this is a lame excuse and you blaming external factors for your own failures, what are you going to do about this? | /r/MarriedRedPill | 09/05/23 12:51 PM
Went through my GF phone and now I need advice/insightI got one question for you: Ever heard of something called the Madonna/Whore complex? If not I suggest you look it up and then think about your feelings about this woman some. | /r/askMRP | 06/05/23 05:14 AM
Own Your Shit Weekly - May 02, 2023You seem to be on a really good, if difficult path there. But why are you being vague with the context here? How did letting your 'emotions boil over' actually manifest itself? I don't know, but it seems like there is something for you to own in here that you're not letting on. It's kinda the same in your paragraph about the nightly 'investigation' this weekend. It's vague. What's really going on? | /r/MarriedRedPill | 03/05/23 08:10 AM
Own Your Shit Weekly - April 18, 2023Weightlifting Strength Standards The thing is that Rippetoe considers you an intermediate at way higher numbers than the link you provided, or any other resource for that matter. Or at least this: As long as you can put weight more weight on the bar every workout, you're a novice. His point is (and I agree) that you can continue using a linear progression way past "our" numbers but only if you eat a shit ton of food. It therefore doesn't lend well to keeping fat off your body. That's why I think… | /r/MarriedRedPill | 20/04/23 10:31 AM
Own Your Shit Weekly - April 18, 2023Funnily enough, those numbers you’re hitting were the same as mine when running the SSLP for the first time (also without enough food). We’re also the same height and weight. This time I ran GCZLP instead and sort of stalled at numbers slightly higher (SQ286, DL300, BP 185, P115). I just switched to 5/3/1 Boring But Big because it fits my schedule and goals better (long term, slow grind but reliable gains). Can’t report whether it works or not but you could check that out. | /r/MarriedRedPill | 19/04/23 01:36 PM
Own Your Shit Weekly - April 18, 2023My immediate goal is to get my main lifts up to body weight multiples of 2 (DL), 1.5 (SQ), 1 (BP). Preferably without putting on additional fat - no GOMAD for me. Just FYI, I don't think Starting Strength is the right tool to use for this goal if you don't want to put on fat. The program is designed to make your lifts go up fast but it almost always (unless you are a genetic freak) includes putting on fat. The creator of the program has said this many, many times over. People try to do the progr… | /r/MarriedRedPill | 19/04/23 12:29 PM
Own Your Shit Weekly - March 28, 2023Like you I got incredibly lucky with therapy. I actually found a guy who sounds a lot like yours, he talked a lot about some of the core principles and practices found in notes and the sidebar here. Assertiveness, independence, abundance mentality, STFU. They’re out there, but they’re rare I think. | /r/MarriedRedPill | 31/03/23 06:35 AM
Own Your Shit Weekly - March 28, 2023Concering grip strength, have you tried using a hook grip? I use double overhand for all warm up sets on the deadlift and then a hook grip for my work sets. I occasionally switch to mixed if I’m going for big singles or the very last work set. Doing it like this ensures you still train grip strength while the weight goes up. Just an idea. | /r/MarriedRedPill | 29/03/23 07:14 AM
