You seem to be completely underestimating the effectiveness of outspoken Feminism. Keeping your head down and getting on with it does nothing to dissuade these people or make their activities less damaging. Stupidity - as humans continue to demonstrate - does not just go away if ignored. This shit needs to be actively stamped out.

Not going to jail because of what very clearly is mental illness is not what bothers me. She should be placed in a secure mental health unit for however long is required. What bothers me is that a man would've gone to jail, and help would likely not have been provided to him at all.

Any discussion about gender equality which starts from a basis of "I think everyone should follow my philosophy because the other gender is evil," isn't a discussion I trust he takes great issue with feminism, then? If his hellish experience hasn't taught him anything then I don't hold out much hope for the guy. Hopefully he's just being disingenuous to save face. Who knows.
