Right, which would fall under 50/50 or some other form of trying to fairly divide household labor so I'm confused why it would matter what a person did while single.

So could she? It goes from one person talking one set of chores to two people tackling one set of chores, they can both do less

Could you elaborate on what your trying to get at or express? I'm not sure how the level of chores when single has much to do with the chores when living together

Ideally they would both be doing less because you now have two people that are tackling roughly the same amount of chores. If the bathroom needs to be cleaned once a week then they wouldn't start cleaning it twice a week because they are both used to cleaning it themselves once a week Edit: words

You could get your partners birthstone and they could have yours

I can understand the idea of wanting your engagement ring to look nice and be something that you really love but I think insisting that it be real diamond is kind of silly when 95% percent of people wouldn't be able to tell the difference between moissanite or cubic zirconia. What my wife and I personally did was get rings with the others birth stones, so hers has aquamarine and mine had opal. It was much more affordable and felt like there was more meaning behind it.

I would definitely stop working, in fact it's basically our plan now that I'll stop working in 10 ish years assuming we are close to financial independence. I would probably spend more time making our food instead of quicker meals which I currently do. Hike more, take the dog on longer walks, move my workouts earlier in the day, hopefully pursue some hobbies, and of course scroll YouTube and play video games here and there

But I think you’ve been conditioned to you believe that you should care about the women in your life I don't think I've been conditioned to like my female counterparts any more than my male ones. men don’t have a biological function that forces them to take care of women. I don't have a biological urge to take care of men either, again I think it's just indifference towards people that aren't close to you. You’ve been socialized to seek a wife and provide for her. Or else why wouldn’t you just p…

Most people down care about strangers, I don't think it's disdain. I show my wife, mom, friends, and coworkers that I like them. Outside of my circle I just don't really care about the majority of people whether they are men or women.

I feel like most husband's are appreciative of there wives who have kids and try to be sympathetic and understand when their wife is pregnant but just don't fully grasp what a burden it could be. Anecdotally it seems like more men than women tend to be more indifferent to having kids and do end up having kids because it's what their wife wants. I feel like people just tend to mostly focus their own struggles and suffering and have an easier time projecting their own feelings onto people that hav…

I like 50/50, it works for me and my wife pretty well but we're also child free and make a similar incomes so we might not be the most representative couple.

If you need a rule than that's probably not a great sign, me and my partner are just open with our phones and don't have a problem if the other uses or goes through it.

I giving this podcast a listen once. I got about 45 seconds in before I had to turn it off. It was just vulgar and annoyingly high energy.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
