I think switching to the trap bar deadlift was a bigger factor with my back than the belt. The belt decision was influenced heavily by this article: https://www.strongerbyscience.com/the-belt-bible/

Some of the most “alpha” guys I know don’t seem to have much of a mission beyond making money, chilling out and getting drunk on the weekends. It’s examples like that which confuse me about whether having a mission is actually important.

I've actually been going to the gym on a regular basis for 12 years. I've gone at least 3x a week for over 3 years. However, during that time I basically just fucked around. I'd do an exercise per muscle group, lift the same weight and volume each time, and took it easy on leg day. In December I started squatting and working on my form with my key lifts. I also started investing in upgrading my home gym so I could do legit lifting. Starting a month ago I put myself on a program with progressive …

Solid OYS, and congrats on your recent marriage. Have you already read No More Mr. Nice Guy and When I Say No, I Feel Guilty? If not, I highly suggest prioritizing those over the current books you're reading.

It sounds like your ego is feasting on the high of your success and her life having gone to shit. You didn't just state the facts of the situation here - you revel in her misery. She still has power over you. That's the issue I see. If her fortunes were better - she was in incredible shape, had remarried a tall, handsome man with a big dick who your kids called dad and liked more than you - I think you'd be a jealous, insecure mess. Beyond the practicalities of raising your kids, she doesn't mat…

Solid post! I've done this with my own wife to a very beneficial effect. She and I have a lexicon in place now which allows us to call out the BS in each other's behaviors and make observations (positive and negative) that we see in our social circles. What are some examples of this lexicon you and your wife have developed?

Dynamite is right. This is a post that's definitely for intermediate/advanced MRP users. For beginners, especially if skimmed, it could be disastrous. When I, for example, first started my journey here, honestly communicating my needs would've been a disaster. For one, I didn't know what my actual needs were. I thought I wanted more sex and for her to be more pleasant around me. In reality, my honest needs were things like "I need you to sexually desire me so I feel validated" and "I need you to…

The way Tyler from RSD explained it stuck with me. It's about being less attached to your ego and allowing your core confidence to come through. Core Confidence You're born with it, just like arms and legs. It is indescribable -- like MOJO or SOUL. You have it as a child until it becomes wounded (it takes years to find it again -- and "re-remember" the core confidence you had as a child) Feeds off of nothing, as it is self-sustaining Ego A rational construct that we devise as a substitute for se…

I think it's better to strive for fulfillment than contentment. To me, contentment is the feeling I have after I finish eating a big meal. Fulfillment is the feeling I have while preparing an awesome meal, from going to the store to chopping the veggies to cooking it to ultimately eating it.

/u/MrChad_Thundercock : " If a man comes home to an empty refrigerator, will he starve? No, he’ll go out and find some food elsewhere." Sex is different than those biological needs though. If I don't have air, water, food, shelter or sleep I will physically deteriorate and eventually die. I would do unimaginable things to get them, and that seems like an appropriate attitude towards them. When I don't get as much sex as I'd like... I just feel bad about myself. Too much of my self-esteem comes f…

Thank you for these comments. 2 - The way you write about sex has your wife's frame as dominant and you are the responder. Examples: "She has been DTF", "She has been frisky", "She suggested watching porn", "She wants a dominant guy" - aka she has frame. VS. "I felt unattractive", "I felt annoyed", aka I am responding to her frame. I think a stronger frame would look like "I tried initiating with her but she wasn't responsive" and being emotionally unaffected by that. You are anxious about sex a…

Agreed. It’s probably my biggest inner game issue right now. While going through the advanced training for SGM, Daniel said something that struck a cord. “Most men don’t enjoy sex - they enjoy the validation they get from it.” I think that’s true for myself. When I have sex, it often feels like a performance and the high I feel from it comes from the fact that a woman found me attractive enough to fuck. If I get her to cum, it feels even better. I think the key here is to focus on immersion. Act…
