You got this! I just put in my two weeks, joining the Great Resignation. A huge weight feels like it was lifted off my shoulders and I see the light at the end of the tunnel. This will be you soon!!

My current job was taking too much of me. 60-80 hour weeks of managing an understaffed team and doing work that I shouldn’t have had to do as someone in management. I had just moved to another state for it but realized with the work load I wasn’t able to make friends or work on myself. I was miserable and it was showing in other areas of my life. And the executive leadership made it abundantly clear that they had no plans to give more support so I could delegate tasks better without overwhelming…

Adding another LV song is “Hard to Love” by Lee Brice. It’s a song about a man who knows he isn’t shit, knows the woman deserves better, admits he wouldn’t do what she does, but he loves that she loves him 🤢 First verse and hook, and it just gets worse from there lol: “I am insensitive, I have a tendency to pay more attention to the things that I need. Sometimes I drink to much, Sometimes I test your trust, Sometimes I dunno why you stay with me? I'm hard to love, hard to love, oh I don't make i…

I don’t think it’s reasonable especially when first getting to know someone. It shows me a lack of time management and a lack of commitment. If they cannot commit to a date then are they going to make effort in other ways? I think once in a committed relationship I don’t mind spontaneous adventures and dates but I don’t want that to be set as the expectation at the start. I am a grown women with a life, a job, and friends and I like to maintain balance. You don’t have to play busy per say. I wil…

It is a boundary. And an important one to keep because these fools think you are there for every beck and call. The last man I spoke to had this problem. I would try to plan things in advance he always said he was busy and wouldn’t make an effort to reschedule or give me times he was available. He would then ask me out with 30min-2hr notice for low-effort plans but at that point I had made other plans or I don’t like rushing to get ready for someone I am still getting to know. I told him, I’d pr…

When I was OLD one boundary I started setting is that I prefer to keep communication on the app until the first date. You can still communicate, make voice/video calls on all the apps, there was really no difference from having my number. I started doing this on accident after a few men got upset when I said no. I realized how quickly men would show their asses if there was a boundary they didn’t like and how easy this one was to enforce. If I say no to exchanging numbers either they would be su…

You are absolutely right. I shouldn’t have said they don’t understand because they do for sure. And by saying that it comes down to understanding it diminishes their responsibility further than they are already doing themselves.

The tech not only took her nudes, he shared the private videos on Facebook to her family and friends. These men in the comments are reprehensible and disgusting. The fact that they are so cavalier about something so sick. Of course they send out their nudes like they hand out candy on Halloween, anyone who comes near their door can get some. It’s also the fact they do not understand consent. Reddit depresses me sometimes because it shows how stupid and gross men can be, even if I already knew th…

He admitted in the comments that it was his fault she got covid because he never stopped going out and was barely home during his paternity leave. I’m so mad for her. She should have left him when she said it, much better being a single mother instead of being a single mother while still married and raising your husband along with the kids. 🤢

I hate the lack of accountability. “There should be more resources for men” there are plenty, he could have used the phone he posted this bs on to research while his wife was pregnant. It’s the fact he whined he didn’t have enough paternity leave, he got 7months and it sounds like he didn’t do shit with the kids. Lack of effort and sounds like he wanted a pat on the back for doing the bare minimum of acknowledging he ain’t shit. Throw the whole man away.

One of the last guys I talked to told me that he was bipolar, recently lost his job, and had a lot of issues that he didn’t know if he should be dating but he really liked me. I told him, “I agree, maybe you should focus on yourself since you sound clear on those issues before dating anybody.” But apparently I’m the bad guy because he liked me and I should have fought for his affection. My life has peace in it, why would I disturb that for someone who is reallly aware of their problems and doing…

I’ve done this with my coworker. She keeps telling me her dating stories and tbh I’m just sick of hearing her pick me “well I’m a low-maintenance woman so this subpar behavior is giving me enough attention I’m willing to put up with it.” This isn’t quite what she says but it’s definitely what I hear. I’ve just been responding to denormalize the behavior she is accepting. I know she can do better but also I just don’t want to hear that shit anymore.

He’s smart and he has an amazing singing voice. I follow his TikTok and he does really good song breakdowns.

You are definitely right, it’s more than tiktok. It’s social media, it was tumblr, Twitter, Instagram. All of them being used as a grooming tool. It’s also the news articles that normalize sex work and downplay its reality. I think TikTok is just on my mind because I feel like the message is in overdrive there compared to what I’ve seen in the past. There are so many tiktoks about sugar baby, strippers, or ones about joining onlyfans. It’s the weird “cutesy” or romanticize videos. So many of the…

Yes! That one and then the girl who did a full minute of like bargain bin accessories. Like boo, a part time job could have gotten that with less effort. Didn’t even need to be around wrinkly sagballs for these crumbs lol

I convinced myself I was into “kink” or that I needed to explore more because I was “boring.” Well working with a therapist, I realized that a part of it was from unhealed childhood trauma. The other part was that I wasn’t particularly into rough sex until after a sexual assault just a few years ago. My therapist thinks it was a way of me trying to control the narrative or try to minimize how I felt the trauma by making it part of my sexual identity. The more I did the work in therapy, the more …

TikTok is really doing a number on these younger women normalizing sex work as well as making it seem like easy money. A lot of them are not genuine in the dangers and the background work they are doing to get with these men. Some of these young women are also just broken in how they see their place in this world and maybe they think they deserve the treatment they receive from these predators. The grossest are the young women bragging about receiving crumbs and think they are really doing somet…

My grandmother told me this constantly growing up, I’ve read the last letter she wrote about this so many times it’s by memory at this point. “baby you have so much love to give to this world, maybe too much. With a heart as big as yours, you are going to need a man who loves you more. Who gives more love to you because it’s what you need. Someone who can fill you up quicker than you can pour it out. It will be hard, and you’ll not always find what you’re looking for. But he is out there with a …

I have been told to lower my standards, maybe find someone who looks more homely. Well I tried that... and those men ain’t shit either. The ugly men are just as disrespectful and entitled as the conventionally attractive men. I’m tired of being told to lower my standards instead of men being told to hold themselves to better standards. I still believe I can have it all, someone I am attracted to and who also takes deliberate actions to let me know he cares for me as a partner. I have been with s…

It hit me pretty hard last night when I first saw it. Using FDS and other tools, I’ve been really examining how I show up in these relationships with what I’m bringing and what I am looking to get out of them in return. It’s been a journey with lots of tough love.

Initially I saw a few hate comments and decided to check out the sub. Complete opposite of what the naysayers said. It’s a group of women encouraging others to be better versions of themselves, encouraging self sufficiency, and learning firm boundaries and maintaining those. I’ve been lurking for a few weeks but I have felt like I’ve learned so much from this sub already. Things that I am applying to my actual life and seeing the positive results from it already.

I did professional platonic cuddling at one point in my earlier twenties. The site has a message board and this is the consistent message from the men on it. That touch is a human necessity and women should basically feel honored to provide hugs and cuddles (in a vulnerable intimate position nonetheless) for free because the men are touch deprived. As though their expectation is the women have no agency and should make sure every man gets their physical needs met and that they shouldn’t have to …
