One thing I didn't mention was where he quit his job and got work out of state to avoid the state taking his child support before he even got his pay checks. I wasn't really going to go in to it (just throwing out an anecdote), but since you wrote a bunch, I'll clarify a few points. Their dad didn't want joint custody... never asked for it and never complained when it was awarded. My wife's attorney asked for it for her hoping to be able to use it as leverage (like: fine, we'll do joint custody, but we want Christmas mornings... that sort of thing)... then he didn't care. Meanwhile, my wife's ex-husband owes her ~30k in child support he's racked up the last 4 years yet he walks free. However, my wife is coerced via constant threat of violence to force her children to go visit someone who they don't want to visit, who isn't there most of the "visitation" anyway, and who has implicitly shown that he doesn't give two shits about them.
