Can confirm. I've been the "good friend" in this situation. It's fun, but then you realize that if you're interested in a girl she'll do this to YOU as well.

I'm not shy necessarily, just very reserved. Of course, being reserved is often perceived as being shy, especially by girls.

I'm probably more superficial than most men because I actually care about producing attractive/intelligent children, but other than that I agree.

Trust me, I am very cautious and vigilant. I've also warned my friends/siblings to be cautious as well, as they are in a similar boat to mine.

My attention actually isn't cheap. I have a super busy schedule and ignored her constantly, which whenever I did activated super sexual mode because she wanted my attention so badly.

I remember asking my dad what I should do when girls go autistic mode, and he straight up told me AWALT. Keep in mind my dad has been "happily" married for over twenty years and is a super traditionalist. Attractive dudes pretty much get automatically red pilled on female attraction once they reach their teens.

The line from Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 really illustrates what you're talking about. "When you're ugly, people love you for who you really are. Beautiful people never know who to trust." Being good looking is an advantage, but I envy people who don't have to constantly look over their shoulder to see if someone is using them.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
