It happens to me when I went to a dance club with two friends (girls). I just focused on have a good time and drink some alcohol in order to make some dance moves (I used to be very shy at dancing) and suddenly some girl was staring at me. She made a lot of eye contact. I didn't make a move because I was actually shocked about it and was kinda shy at that time. The girl was so pretty btw. So it always helps if you can smile naturally, just have a good time wherever you go.
