That's scarey. I'm Canadian and I have always assumed that if someone was actively harming a loved one I could defend them. Now that i think a bit about it though I guess the difference here in Canada being that the use of force has to be 'reasonable' and the prosecution would say shooting someone was unreasonable and I could have just pulled them off my loved one?
