SAME GOES FOR SEXUAL IMPERATIVES. You can view other people's actions through those lenses, but if you try and rationalize cheating or just being a lousy partner by saying 'meh imperative', that's no excuse. Totally agree. I think free will / autonomy is used as the greatest justification for the worst actions. To me, you've got to aim for free will + being considerate, like even at a basic level. It's incredible how today's dating scene is devoid of that second aspect. I don't know how those pe…

Basically, I'd say people who have fairly serious issues with actual intimacy are unable to accept that their actions mean something besides indicating their own freedom and autonomy. They use autonomy to justify everything they do. In my experience, intimacy (at the front end) is interpreted by girls/guys as exclusivity, responsibility for another person, and they struggle with one truly unapproachable concept in their minds: that their mind is in their control, thus they make choices not just …

That's a given, but I guess the implication I had in my OP was: what do you assume the reasons for that are?

I definitely don't, but the better question is: is most physical contact off limits? For example: male and female friend are commiserating over something. Female friend really feels for male friend's predicament. She gently pats him on the knee/thigh for a second, in the presence of other mutual friends, then stops. Too much?

Both slightly impressed with the person for their fortitude and slightly disappointed for sometimes being a stick in the mud. There's a girl I knew who was willing to have like 1 drink, but never ever let loose even a little bit even when the situation really called for it. It was disappointing in those situations. That said, the 2 or so times she went past her normal amount, it made hanging out more fun because it was such a surprise. I do think you generally can have more fun drinking than you…

I actually agree with OP. The only limitation I have on it is you need to consistently take inventory of "yourself" to fix what needs to be fixed. But trying to be someone you're not is a losing game and leads to losing relationships, self-esteem issues, and anger. TRP has some core truths. I've seen it. I was overly emotional towards a girl and she lost attraction. But, I don't think that was the root cause. It was a contributing factor. She lost attraction towards me because she wasn't really …

I think the mentality is like... "if I can't be the prettiest or the smartest or the most athletic I'll be the most fucked up." Actual question - when you learn a woman was a cutter, what is your reaction? Crazy? Believe her when she says she's moved past that? Ticking time bomb?

Maybe around 19 or so, but my first time at 25 was great. I felt like it was much sweeter and the girl really understood me.

25 Not really satisfied, no. But girls have always liked me. I'm just not active and don't feel an urge to go and get girls. I definitely struggle with oneitis. Yes. Easier for me to approach and be more nonchalant. I felt more like a man a little while after losing my virginity, butnot immediately after.

I'm still experimenting to be honest. I pretty much sat in my room apathetic to romance until 23 or so. Then I went to grad school, got a haircut, dressed in form-fitting clothes, and socialized well with people. I did well and got some prestige. I was happier and got much more attention from girls. Got laid for the first time this past year, at 25. I felt different afterwards to be honest - more confident, more like a man. That said, the girl only wanted it casual and I wanted more. I let her k…

Off topic.. but... if you ask me the above is mostly out of anyone's hands. You don't really dictate how quickly you get attached. That was my reaction too. No one just chooses to be attached to someone or not. That comment was literally bullshit. We're all human.

25, studying for the bar exam, white male, somewhat conservative leaning. Will be practicing law starting in August defending some corporations. Only recently lost my virginity to a girl who was great but 100% fit the bill of a girl who chases after Chads. I'm charming but got way too emotional/honest with her and needed to have a lot more backbone and "alpha" in me. Currently working on that.

an alpha will just accuse her of being a cheating whore if he suspects ANYTHING or even if he DOESNT and just wants her on her toes, smash her computer and her phone, leave for 36 hours anwhen he comes back she'll apologize to HIM Wait, what?

Part of the reason is their name is literally fucking Hufflepuff. Start there. That name is terrible. Gryffindor sounds noble. Slytherin sounds mysterious. Ravenclaw sounds sophisticated. The maroon, silvery green, and midnight blue colors of each of those houses are just cool. If Hufflepuff (for all of its loyalty, fairness, and hardwork) had a cooler name like Gryffindor or Ravenclaw or Slytherin, and didn't have its loud super bland yellow coloring, people would love that house IMO. It just s…

I wouldn't go quite that far. It's more of a "you don't know what you have" type of thing. If you go a while without sex, you're actually pretty OK. If you start getting sex, it's like it leaves an imprint and you want more.

I see both sides. I'd say I still mostly agree with the view that it's worse to be the guy who's fucked like an animal and not committed to though. Probably just because that's what I'm going through at the moment.

(1) My friend said I'm a 7 a while ago. (2) No. 5'11, 150 pounds. (3) I would say 0. The girl I slept with would say 1 (my only person I've slept with). (4) 1 romantic relationship. (5) Watching basketball. I studied law (and am prepping for the bar), so I tend to like law. Not a lot of actual activities though. I'm a hermit. (6) No I didn't. I also didn't want to. I was very apathetic from the end of high school through college about romance because I just went to class, commuted home, and stay…

Is there anything you'd particularly like to defend here ? That was specifically directed at me. I wasn't defending it in the first place. The rest of it does indeed answer my question/the topic.

Is there anything you'd particularly like to defend here ? The thing I'm always taken aback with in this sub is how users often don't address what the threads actually call for. You'll notice I'm not taking a side in the original post. I'm asking what people think about the passage, if they agree with it, what things women might lie about if you agree with the passage, and what things women might lose sleep over as to dating or relationships. The author's words aren't my own, and it's a fictiona…

As long as you're on top of your shit and she's happy with you, you're golden I don't agree. If a girl leads a particular lifestyle (goes out a lot), she's gonna have many opportunities and will probably get swayed by some attractive/funny enough dude from time to time. You can't really do anything about that, no matter how attractive, talented in bed, or cool you are, besides not be involved with a girl like that.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/17 03:02 PM
1

It sounds like you met a girl just like the one I'm involved with. It's pretty frustrating to deal with, because as smart and cool as she is, her emotional radar is incredibly fucked up. There's been a lot of drama and any time I ask her "why did you do that," it's "I wanted to" or "I don't know." Nothing else.

Yeah I think you're right. My idea was fucking each other exclusively and hanging out whenever she wanted to, and if she wants to reopen it, she lets me know and it's done. It's basically closed dating. We're definitely at different places lol.

Question. I know this is separate from the sub's topics but oh well, PMs didn't seem to be working for me. Is it ridiculous to ask for "casual monogamy"? She rejected it already as dating so it's out the window, but I'm just wondering if that's a thing or I was just trying to rephrase, "I want to date you."
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/17 11:34 PM
1

It's currently happening to me. She is open to casual and doesn't want to date anyone nor solely hook up with me, and I want to date / be the only person she hooks up with. Tough to figure out a way to proceed because of what the original comment said - every relationship has power dynamics and if you give on certain key stuff, that sets a precedent. But at the same time, if you try to control, the relationship dies off.

It will almost certainly help but it isn't necessary. I have a friend who is a "typical redditor." Sits at home 95% of the time, pretty dependent on others, very little relationship experience (if any). He is an incredibly charming person when he does go out and when he wants to be. The difference I notice with him though is that he's can't just put the charm on people, he has to really really want to be there.

This post rings so true for me. I was a late bloomer and when I hit the "relationship scene" I was blown away at how little people cared and floated from one thing to the next. No real connections, no real ties, just this weird feeling that someone (kind of?) liked you, and a switch goes off and they're gone. I have known one girl somewhat well in 25 years who seems to put family first, sacrifice first, consistency first. Of course, she's married. Her husband's awesome. They're both very dependa…

Genuinely don't care how big the boobs or butt are so long as you're cool and cute. Cute varies a lot too. There is probably a baseline in terms of looks, but personality + consistency + unique is yuge for me. edit: also want to echo on the clingy point. I think it's cool, with an exception for genuinely batshit crazy.

Him trying to present his case as to why she would be better off with him, rather than the Chad that she's with, is a lost cause. I'm not really red pill, but I agree with this. It's pretty simple. If two people are into each other and around each other enough, they'll let each other know. Trying to force a square peg into a round hole does not work.

Look, i've been where you're at. I guarantee you that /u/sublimemongrel was right when he/she said you never established boundaries and led the person on. I'd go further and say you probably didn't establish solid boundaries because you either liked the attention or really weren't sure what you wanted from the person. Now that they're into you, you don't want them, but you probably never really knew that until now - either because you liked the attention or didn't think hard on what you wanted f…

I really don't judge the girl I'm with when she doesn't wear makeup, unless she's unhygienic or just slovenly goes about public life in a way that even I wouldn't. For example when I wake up, I at least throw a relatively fresh T shirt and jeans/shorts on, brush my teeth, wash my face, and go even if I need to do something very simple. That's it. She does not need to look like a stunner 24/7, just take care of her hygiene and dress up when we both should.

you were defined by an empty space where key parts of your personality should have been Damn. Most of "nice guy" bullshit is dudes with adult feelings and desires but without adult experiences. I'm not that "nice" of a guy, but I have some of it in me. These two quotes hit the nail on the head.

Sounds to me like she wanted the D, but was too afraid of him because of how attractive he was. I'm a guy and had a similar thing happen with a girl. It all changes once you're banging.

Currently in this situation. It's so hard to tell what the right move is. My head says to cut off contact, but my heart wants to reach out. I can say that I rejected her many months ago and she continued to have deep feelings for me. Basically she was friend zoned, then found someone, and I got super jealous/realized I had feelings too. So she was able to stay friends with me and even flirt with me, but I can't do it. Then again, I never once told her (as she did) that I didn't want to pursue an…

Personally, I don't want to go beyond flirting and kissing another person, and he's too lazy to regularly and actively pursue casual sex, but we both know it's okay. I said this elsewhere ITT, but I had a similar situation and the theory seemed OK. Similar to what you had. Then reality set in and what an "open" relationship really meant. I learned that you think your relationship is open, but when feelings really get tangled up, people get jealous. Period. You don't want to go beyond flirting/ki…

I'm a guy. I find plenty of women attractive. As of now, I'm probably solidly attracted to about 4-5 I regularly see. However, those attractions are each very different. At any one time, there is only one person I'm ever "head over heels for." I really do see them in exclusion to the others. I honestly think of the others as just eye/personality candy, and that one person is the overwhelming focus.
