My only condition for taking a man’s last name is if his last name is cooler than mine.

Yeah, because most marriages throughout history involved miserable abused women who couldn’t get out because women couldn’t even open their own bank accounts and be financially dependent until the 50s/60s. You’re complaining that when a woman receives a higher education, it leads to her leaving men? And you would rather women don’t go to college so they can be better wife material (remain financially dependent on a man)?

Genuinely, yes, I’ve been told I look much better when I fix my posture. And I can say the same for the opposite sex.

Fastest thing you can do? Fix your posture, stand tall, chin up. It makes a world of a difference

Not really about looks, I feel safer using OLD because I can screen him and make sure he’s legit before meeting up with him. If some guy comes up to me at the bar, it’s a total gamble of whether or not he’s a predator with some roofies ready to go in his pocket. Also, this applies to both OLD at IRL, don’t underestimate the power of conversation. I’ve swiped right on chads who I then unmatched with because they were about as interesting as stale bread. “Lol, cool, wyd” is all they can manage to …

I think you mean to say liberal feminism—as in, “feminism” that still operates within the confines of capitalism—isn’t helping women. Employment by itself is not enough to financially emancipate women because it often leads to further sexual exploitation. The only difference between trad wives being exploited by men who abuse their protector/provider position and working women exploited by the workplace by a pervy boss is that the exploitation happens in private vs public spheres. Economist-soci…

Nope, I won’t shoot you. As long as you meet the same standard that you want to see in your partner, there’s no issue. If you enforce a standard on someone else that you yourself don’t meet, that’s the problem. My original post was to point out hypocrisy of men who want trad women in every sense - not just the homemaking and submission, but also the childbearing body and youthful beauty - but do mot meet those rigid standards themselves, in terms of wealth, height, and strength. And really no on…

There’s hypocrites on both sides but I’m just sharing my POV as a woman who reads posts from men complaining about wanting a Biblical style babymaking wife but they don’t put in the effort to be a Biblical style man. If you don’t like reading other people’s POVs then why are you on a debate sub? Just go into an empty room and yell your opinions into the void because you’re too sensitive to handle other people’s opinions.

Yeah uh I'm not a trad woman so I don't expect a trad husband to provide for me. There are women who willingly participate in the patriarchal bargain, a term coined by political scientist Deniz Kandiyoti, which means she will submit to her husband in exchange for protection and financial security. I don't see anything wrong with that willingness to bargain, especially in certain economic circumstances, as long as the man does not abuse his position, which means it really shouldn't be "tyranny" b…

No, like I just said, I am pointing out that that belief is absurd. Learn how to read.

Yeah that’s exactly the double standard I’m pointing out. I know yall think that men now go for “fat” women because of the body positive movement, but that movement is really only confined to female circles. As a woman who is not fat myself, but has fat friends, there is an obvious preference—going as far as expressing disgust for fat women—the same way there is an obvious preference for tall men.

Yeah exactly. That’s the unrealistic double standard I’m pointing out.

Well like I said in other comments, my point is that we should all aim for partners that share the same values as us. IE I take my career seriously but I also want a family so I want a partner who also has a career and will balance housework with me, so I’m not a trad wife and I do not want a trad husband who only works outside the home. But my point is if a man wants a woman who is a virgin, cooks, cleans, makes the home, makes babies just for him, then the man will also have to adhere to patri…

The point of my original post is to point out that social contracts are fundamentally bullshit anyways. Everyone should just do whatever the fuck they want to do and find a partner that agrees with them. That simple. You want a slut who will fuck you on the first date? Go ahead and be a slut yourself. You want a traditional girl who's a virgin, cooks, cleans, wants to make your babies? Then you abstain from porn, masturbation, go to church, bring bread home, save your virginity for your traditio…

I never implied that. My post is simply pointing out that if a man wants their partner to have traditional values, they should also adhere to traditional values. Don't take your anger out on your keyboard because you interpreted my post in a way that offended you.

Well sleeping around and maintaining a healthy loving relationship are two different things. For my post I'm referring to those looking for long term relationships with traditional gender roles.

Believing one should have a partner that shares the same values as them is shitty and shallow? I'm confused, you want a partner that doesn't share the same values as you so you can constantly fight and hate each other?

"Robert Blauner has argued that the utility of the colonial analogy depends upon the distinction between colonization as a process and colonialism as a social, economic, and political system (1969:393), arguing that 'Important as are economic factors, the power of race and racism cannot be sufficiently explained through class analysis.'" I’m talking specifically about the sperm banks in Brazil that OP brought up. Of course parents want their kids to look like them whatever race they are.

I mean I feel like my professors who spent their entire lives studying and researching and teaching history, sociology, and politics might know a thing or two. And no I don’t automatically adhere to authority I question it if I feel the need to do so.

You’re reading too far into this. I think at the very most, people who want biological children will naturally want to share physical traits with their child. Then there’s the weirdos with designer babies.

Mmm however Turkey used to be really progressive for women’s rights and even wrote a treaty for the EU called the Istanbul Convention to protect women from gendered violence. But nowthe current administration hates women and spreads misogyny so society follows politics.

They’re not. I’m talking from the perspective of self-hating incels.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/01/22 04:52 AM

Might be because this friend of mine lives in Turkey where 50% of all women experience physical and/or sexual abuse and the authorities tend to sweep it under the rug because they don’t feel like doing anything until a body shows up.

No? If two people love each other and want to make a baby together the race of the baby shouldn’t matter except for the obvious expectation that it’s gonne be the same race(s) as its parents.

But men could also do the same. I know several women in my life who met a guy, got into a relationship, everything was good, and suddenly he starts beating the shit out of her. One of my friends almost died by a beating from her boyfriend, now she’s permanently mentally disabled. He didn’t seem violent the first few times I met him. Basically, being treacherous manipulative and hypocritical happens in both genders.

Depends on class. Middle and lower class women have always done uncompensated labor like childrearing and homemaking. Upper class women sat around and had their staff take care of the childrearing and homemaking. Whether or not the female servants were compensated really depends on the definition of compensation. Back in the day having a roof over your head in the servant’s quarters and eating in the mess hall might have been compensation enough. Today, even if a laborer is paid, if the wage is …

That’s literally what I’m saying. We should all aim for a partner that shares the same values as us. Of course it’s not reasonable for a woman who doesn’t adhere to traditional standards to want a traditional man for herself. And vice versa.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/01/22 04:18 AM

That depends on the woman herself. Personally speaking, I’m a 5’8 woman and I know I’m taller than the average woman. So I don’t care about the height of the men I date. But I don’t care about uncontrollable physical traits in general, like race or height or skin. For example, I dated a man who was darker and shorter than me for a long time, but according to the RP I as a woman would never go for a dark skinned short guy….except I did. The women who care that much about little details like heigh…

It feels more like the major underlying problem is racism, which was created by European colonialism. Tbh doesn’t make any sense to me to blame it all on “wimen!!1!!1!!!” Now I will agree that yes, it’s eugenic and weird as fuck when anyone, including women, are obsessed with their baby having certain racial qualities. While white sperm is in high demand in sperm banks of previosuly colonized countries like Brazil that still have strong remnants of colonial racism in their societies, more and mo…
