Oooohhh I hadn’t thought about this at all! Good point

Omg that’s so true! Guys wouldn’t date a girl they found unattractive. But we females are told to give the “nice, but not that attractive” guy a chance! My girlfriends and sisters think I (F) am too picky. I tell them I want someone I attracted to and not repulsed by. The bar is to not be repulsed! Lol Sex & City show: Samantha said to “marry someone who loves you more than you love him” as he’ll treat ya right

Oh my gosh, when I first saw this, thought it was one of those funny ones, where they lip synch or do the actions to another person’s voice. Then halfway through I realized this is legit. Damn! Glad to read that she got out okay.

I wonder what motivated him to make that TikTok?

Needed this! Last Sunday afternoon had a nice date. Didn’t hear from him, so Monday night I texted (via dating app) saying it was nice to meet him and thanked him again for the date. Wednesday morning he texted it was very nice to meet me as well. That was it. So today I was toying with idea of contacting him again, but then saw this post (of not chasing the guy). Thanks, needed this!

Good point, he could have clarified the meeting in park was to be considerate given Covid and made some other kind of efforts to plan a nice date. Oh no! Sorry to hear you’ve had so many potential Covid scares. Take care and keep safe!

Okay, thanks. Wanted to get the FDS viewpoint, as a society we’ve never had this experience of dealing with a pandemic before.

Thanks. Was curious about the dating situation with Covid. And guess it depends on the people (tolerance level, personal situation), area they’re in etc

Given the Covid situation, being outdoors (fresh air circulating) for a walk or sitting on park bench (6 feet apart) is healthier than inside a restaurant (less ventilation, less human contact to spread virus etc) so would that make the “coffee & walk date” acceptable to FDS given these specific and unprecedented Covid times?

I used to think it was because the guy was wanting to see/find out IF he was compatible with me or not. Like if I said I’m looking for a sporty, athletic guy who likes to hike; and if he wasn’t that type and didn’t like to hike, then he (and myself) would know it’s not a great match. Previously I never thought it was bcuz the male was trying to mirror/mould themselves to what female wants to suck them in!

Me three! The bar is so low right now that I’m pleasantly surprised when I’m NOT ghosted lol

I go full on Marie Kondo and go through my clothes, shoes, handbags and sort out what I don’t wear for consignment, donation, give to my sisters. And clean out make-up, toiletries etc. Currently I’m planning kitchen renovations; so it’s fun to research and check out different countertop, cabinet options, stainless steel appliances. I can’t afford to do all these right now because I got laid off in June due to Covid, but at least I have time and mental energy to do the planning. So when I get a n…

Sex has become meaningless currency due to FWB/casual/hook-ups

Back in my late 30’s, I briefly dated a guy and he had mattress on floor (at least it had sheets on it). And he acted like it was completely normal and that I was the weird person for thinking it wasn’t normal. So it made me question myself. Not anymore!

Amen to that! If a guy wants to see ya, he’ll ask/make it happen. I just sit back til then. And not putting all eggs into one basket; this week was supposed to meet up with someone I’d been texting with for weeks (our schedules didn’t mesh earlier). And the day before he ghosts/unmatches me. Wtf! And I’d avoided chatting with other guys as I didn’t want to have too many conversations going on (was chatting with just 2 others, not meeting up yet). Soooo after that happened, am chatting with 4 new…

It makes me laugh when they go right from wanting us and then when we say No, they go straight to insulting us. I met a guy for coffee date and he wanted to move onto going to park (to make out and I’m sure he’d be pressuring for more!). I said No Thanks and left quickly before he could try to convince me. Before I even made it home (and kept looking back to make sure he wasn’t following me, as I got creepy vibes from him) he sends me text to say why did I lie about my age (I didn’t), that I loo…

TBH thought you were gonna say he sent you a unsolicited dick pic! Is there a legit reason that he’s living with his parents? I (F) lived overseas for many years, and when I returned home, I lived with my Dad and then my sister for a few months until I got re-established (new job, own condo). So sometimes there’s extenuating circumstances (as I’m sure guys were judging me when they found out I was living with family)

Going out solo is not lonely, it’s empowering! That just because you don’t have someone (boyfriend, friends) to do something with, that it’s not stopping you from something that you want to do and experience! But think baby steps and keep working on it. Like being solo in coffee shop or casual restaurant. With a movie, I’d wait til closer to movie time (like before the trailers started) to go to my seat. I love going to museums or shopping solo, cuz then I can go at my own pace; stay longer in o…

I usually don’t ask for a surname before the first meeting “aka the screening” because I don’t want to give them mine! IF it made it to a second meeting “aka a real date” and I felt comfortable with him (he seemed legit) THEN it’s ok to trade surnames, company name of where I work. Maybe not even til 3rd or 4th date for that info even!
