I don't think anyone can fault her for trying, in fact she was respectful enough to even say its just too difficult and she underestimated it. I think the issue is that lowering standards is the problem or having instructors help her as one of the people in the article is quoted as stating.

I don't see the reasoning in mentioning her husbands past military issues. While I don't agree with his actions of urinating on dead combatants, chiefly because its mutilating an enemy corpse and therefore violating the rules of Land Warfare. I disagree with his actions, but I do not believe they should be mentioned more than once in the article if even at all. He potentially saved someones life, and yet all they did was bring up him pissing on a dead Tali.
