I agree. My parents fulfil fairly traditional gender roles, and describe their dynamic as 'Dad is the head of the family, Mum is the neck'. Both essential parts with different jobs to do. A creature with two heads is, after all, a monster.

I totally agree. My husband and I are a team. We regularly high five (when we reach a savings goal, when we get the dishes done in the ad break, when we score a sweet parking spot) pick each other up when we're down, challenge each other to be successful, question each other's irrational behaviour and rejoice in each others achievements. If you are in a relationship that is under constant threat of sabotage, that's a warzone, not a 'game'. LIFE is a game, and your partner should be there to help…

Emotional resilience/stoicism is a big one for many adolescent men. As a high school teacher I am utterly appalled at the way this teacher behaved. It doesn't matter what this kid was saying, he could have been denying climate change or defending some crazy conspiracy theory, she should not have humiliated him like this. Classrooms should be safe spaces where everyone feels that can say what they think and have the chance to explain themselves. People don't have to agree, but they should still listen.
