Not always. I have a friends who did history/philosophy degrees who worked in finance when they graduated. Granted they were smart people to begin with skills beyond history/phil (i.e. some coding skill) and degrees from a good school. But in general, if you want to make it in the non-STEM fields, you may have to struggle a bit in the beginning before getting sufficient experience under your belt.
