I really want my earring back.It is distressing, I didn't realize they were in the open box, I imagined that they were just laying on the dresser. I have known friends who have stolen from their wealthier friends houses, and the wealthy one typically never noticed, or noticed but never said anything. So I definitely know how both scenarios could be possible. If your friend stole it, she might be thinking you're so much more well off than her, that you don't even care/deserve it/need it as much as her. Since it's just one, I'd recommend staying calm for a bit and really scouring the area. I know that sometimes people lose earrings in their own home, they know they dropped it/knocked it over, and just never recovered it from within their own home. Rather than stealing, she may have bumped into the dresser it was on, and it rolled off. Maybe she even noticed it rolled off, tried to look for it, and was too scared to tell you.
