3	Deal breakers. I tend to agree that emoticons are silly and/or not at all proper language. Though I have started using them only because when communicating in any textual form, you lose all tone, inflection, facial expressions, and body language. I am a generally silly and sarcastic person, but until you know that things I say in IM's and e-mail would seem really rude, mean spirited, or otherwise negative.
