I used to do something like this rarely, because of my own abuse as a child. Not for as long, and not for fifty years now... Dissociative Personality Disorder; one aspect of it is retreating to a place of mental safety, where nothing escapes me that can be used to fuel an attack. Not that you are attacking! But the mind is amazing at certain kinds of blindness. I no longer feel the need of that aspect; but I remain a generally secretive person. The thing is, just because there might be an explan…

There is a plan for all women who would subscribe to /r/RedPillWomen to vanish from the Earth, lost among the aggressive promotion of "Girl Power", as someone else named it. I wish I could un-see this, but I can't. I think these artificial trends will have to explode from their own deficiencies. It may take a long time. This is but one prong of a concerted attack on real health-giving values. There is profit in dividing others.

Let me tell you of my lost love over LDR mistakes. We committed to LDR for years, and set up powerful vows of integrity and honesty; and then made a fatal mistake. We decided to speak by phone or Skype every day at a certain time. Sometimes the conversations would last an hour, and seem like a couple of minutes. We were both interested in making it work, invested deeply in the magic. In retrospect I think we should have made such a commitment for only once a week, maybe twice if there was a birt…

If you are asking/wondering, it's time. Or even a little over time; it's a principle you will find useful in other parts of honesty also. The responsibility you bear is to be your honest self.

Music has been my faithful friend, meditation, support, joy for many years. I'm not very deep into it, but what I have is precious to me.

Most of us grow up trying to be good human beings, and there's nothing wrong with that idea. What gets left out is the ability to withstand evil. We don't teach our children how to take a blow and how to retaliate; how to argue effectively; how to be assertive without being overbearing. There's a book called "People Of The Lie" by M. Scott Peck. To paraphrase one of his concepts, most of us trying to be good end up with no idea what to do when confronted with evil intent. That's why evil is ofte…

Oh, I beg to differ! (Grin)(older guy, been through this several times) What I was trying to convey was this: You stand a very good chance of overdoing this by rushing at her as if she were a wall you have to climb before gravity grabs you by the ass. Not so. If you think about it for a minute, you'll realize that there are months, years, perhaps a lifetime for you to get to know her as a friend and possibly lover. So I say to you, "Chill, man, life is long." Or something like that. Trying for a…

Another broadcaster's trick for hearing your own voice: cup a hand over an ear and bend it forward. Speak normally, and listen! /u/jamesp is right on when he said, "Important to know what your voice sounds like." I saw a clip the other day where Morgan Freeman suggested yawning a lot before speaking... it relaxes the throat muscles and you get deeper tone.

Several takes on the word 'date' here. I liked yours. Reminds me of a Bob Dylan song line: "I wanna be your lover, baby, I don't wanna be your friend." Funny how the sound of that changes inside me as the years pass.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
