I work for these guys. They're honestly perhaps the happiest, most down-to-earth people I've ever met.

Wow, this really lands with me today. I was recently broken up with by a woman who met someone older and more successful than me, and before that, it happened again. It hurts, and it makes me wan to just give up on women entirely (and somehow women wonder why men have anger at them, don't trust them, etc.), but it also makes me feel like I'm just weeding out women who aren't right, and gaining experience in the process. I feel like I'm ready to be that guy crashing out of the tower. Thanks for p…

some quick points: 1. I agree with your feeling that when men do "bad things" it is regularly used as evidence of a toxic masculinity - but when women do them it's because that woman is an anomaly. Point taken. You have no way of knowing her mental condition. Just because someone does something really shitty, it doesn't mean they are crazy. Is there no room for expression? The fact that I think this woman is a lunatic, or out of her gord, or ridiculous, shouldn't necessarily be taken as an asser…

It's not "ultimately" anything. Without generalizing, there's no correlation between her actions and his responsibility for them. This kind of story is absurd and we ought not to be taking it as a serious representation of reasonable discourse. If you and I both agree this is absurd, then we ought to ignore it. If it looked like there was a chance that a judicial decision was going to go in this woman's favor, then we ought to pay attention.

As someone who ha been the victim of unwanted sexual (and aggressive) advances of other, and physically imposing, men, I 100% endorse this statement

What university are you at? PS: please tell your "friend" that she's a rude jerk for calling you an "ass" for bringing up a reasonable point reasonably. as a digression, I'm increasingly impatient with anyone who is rude, on any side, to reasonable people.

Really guys? This is shitty and lame, yes, but is it a legitimate gripe for Men's Rights? Can we please create a subreddit specifically for this kind of thing? Like r/stupidchicks or r/feminocracy or r/reallywomen?

What we ought to do is have a modded link that directly addresses feminists who would like to confront and/or discuss. It might be worthwhile to have a r/askMRAs like r/askfeminists. In a grander sense, we ought to be compiling very direct and pointed answers into a kind of reference guide we can link on the right. Answers to claims/discussions of rape, parental rights waivers, etc. Part of the issue with the problem with perhaps both the Men's Rights Movement, and its entanglement with ignorant…

If you question the basis of their opinions/beliefs (especially the underlying ones they are NOT really aware of), then you are challenging the whole structure... and in my experience they tend to not like that. They put Socrates to death for this... Maybe I should learn from history. Certainly people are frustrated, not merely with their limitations, but with not being able to grasp what is REALLY going on, and perhaps more so just that things in general do not seem to BE "going on" so to speak…

In the short time I've been around, 26 years, I would agree with you - look at the Lincoln-Douglas debates. They made long, difficult, and specific points with one another. We've found ourselves in a culture of sound-bites, and not every idea can be circumscribed in short bursts of interesting dialogue... I think people are angry, and probably frustrated with their own limitations - without the ability to know how to handle disconfirming and conflicting (or even paradoxical) data they seem to wa…

And these behaviors are probably a result of a mix of these motivations. Thanks again for the dialogue & awesome responses - it seems like most people on reddit dismiss/attack/hurl insults at me when I ask questions lol

And probably this behavior is a mix of all of these reasons. This has been a good discussion - most people on Reddit just yell/dismiss/hurl insults at me when I ask questions lol

It may just be speculation, and meandering, but I think it did a good job of circumscribing the answer to my question. I hadn't considered that most teachers don't have the opportunity to mature because they haven't been presented with a social opportunity/necessity to. These may be well documented, but this is the first time I'm hearing of it. Do you not feel that connecting these dots was elucidating? I hope you do, this was probably the best reply I've gotten on Reddit.

LWRellim, this is amazing - with your permission I'd like to link to this as a post.

When I say "trend" I don't mean "something that's only just now happening" - I'm referring to the qualitative data on these women: what are the correlative factors amongst them? I'm curious about why they would do this - what's the payoff? What's going on in their minds that makes them want to do this? It just seems so strange - no more strange than a male pedophile, but just another kind of strange. I'm sure one can "make sense" of this sort of behavior one way or another; it doesn't excuse the…

I'm not suggesting that it is - I'm certainly not suggesting it's not pedophilia either; what I'm wondering is in a larger sense, biological/psycho/social, what's the purpose of this kind of action? I believe LWRellim, and that this type of behavior probably has gone on since the beginning of time, but why?

What's the trend with women who do this? What's the motivation? It doesn't make a hell of a lot of sense to me.

Yeah, this is definitely confusing. I rarely have this happen to me, although it does, but I always have no idea what caused it. How do we get this upvoted enough to get an answer lol

I just want to make this a little clearer: when these guys say "focus on yourself". What they mean is bringing some awareness to what you want to do, outside of your social programming/sensitivity. Don't ignore these other things entirely, but DEFINITELY do not let them drive your actions. PuaCurveBall is right: Your job is to become sensitive to what you want to do, what's fun to you, pushing your comfort zone and seeing how it feels and what you like.

Nervous energy and awkwardness is definitely in the mind; and I'm sure a strong leadership frame and simply not paying attention to my own feelings of nervousness would help. However, I've been down the road of doing too much kino and weirding girls out, and have backed off a bit - I have a pretty good sense of when I should do it (obviously, there's room for improvement). What I'm interested in is trying to create some sexual attraction and then using some touching to really anchor that feeling…

For real - there's something at the edge of getting them invested that has to do with manipulating emotions (manipulating meaning causing emotional responses, not manipulating in a negative sense). I've not really heard or seen a lot about this either. It's mystifying because it feels like it's at the center of talking with women; and in sales.

So, being funny, I've got this down (Improv and stand-up comedy for 10+ years), but there seems like there is another element going on that's leading somewhere. I've experienced it with other girls before; like something that feels like she's on board. Is what I'm saying making sense? I want to try and create this vibe, that's fun, playful, but that sex is probably at the end of. I've been on a lot of dates that I'll make her laugh, we'll have a good time, but then she'll never return my texts o…

Give yourself a minute and head to Target, put a couple of things in a basket and wander around. There's a million reasons to start a conversation. And if you get one hooked, turn it into an instant date - tell her you missed her birthday and want to buy her a $2.46 gift.

This is extremely fascinating. Until I read this I hadn't really considered that reproductive issues fell whatsoever under "men's rights". There should be a larger discussion of this.

It's not normal for men to acknowledge that we're socially impotent in this way. Close to home in our concept of identity is efficacy. Women are more fluid in these kinds of social gaps - I've been at parties I've almost gotten the hell beaten out of me at because a girl who was flirting with me (mutually) has told her boyfriend (who before he discovered us I didn't know she had, because she failed to mention it) that I was hitting on her and aggressively trying to get with her. I think that mos…
