As despicable as it is, I agree with you. Not all despicable things are illegal, and you can't just throw all the assholes in jail because you don't like them. What they did was morally reprehensible, but I don't see how it was illegal. A wrongful death lawsuit against the Redditors who encouraged him seems frivolous. I realize this is probably an unpopular thing to say on Reddit, since people want their pound of flesh from those assholes.

Let me tell you the deal I made with my parents. I pay 100% of my college expenses and when they retire, if they are having an money problems I'll be more than happy to help them. Now, I didn't actually make that deal, but they haven't paid anything for my college education. I'm still pay my loans. You see, my parents raised me, and paid for all of my clothes, and food, and shelter until I was 18 years old. The least I can do for them is to help them if they need money.

I do have a sister. And, this wasn't the OP's sister. Secondly, if my sister told me somebody raped her I would have her go to the police and follow the proper protocol for reporting a vicious crime. I would not, however, anoint myself judge, jury, and executioner. I believe in innocent until proven guilty. Imagine if the money paid to child support went into a trust administered by a professional. Or, to an access type card where it could only be used to by specific things. Whenever a guy is paying $532 a month in child support for one child, I can only imagine how much of that money is being used by the mother on whatever she wants to pamper herself, especially when the child spends four days and three nights with the father.

I've said this at least a dozen times on Reddit, but we no longer use common sense and our court system isn't interested in thinking for themselves or taking every case as something unique. The justice system is run like a large corporation. I wouldn't wish rape on anybody, but I propose this solution: If you falsely accuse somebody of rape or any other crime that lands you on a sex offenders list, you should be put on trial for a false sexual accusation. You then have to register as a false accuser on a False Accuser Registry.
