I've also wanted to know what these ideas might be, but idk about from this guy. He says there are no options at all but then says he has to settle... so he just doesn't like his options?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/10/25 04:48 AM

Perhaps you should have marked your post as complaining. There's no debate here.

My point was some men act as if there are no exceptions. Even calling them exceptions, to me, makes it sound like women like me aren't that common, the ones who could care less about the 6-6-6 "rule." I don't pretend to know what percentage we make up, and I'm not sure what studies you're referring to. Links? As far as race, that topic is deeper than just skin color as many decisions that seem to be based around it might often be cultural. But that's off-topic. Even if your generalities are accu…

Overcooked is so stressful! Yes, it's ironic. That won't keep them from whining, though. It's why I'm mostly a lurker here.

He's still gonna say you're wrong. You and I both dislike gymbros. I also married a gamer. In fact, being a gamer or a poker player was a prerequisite for me to date any guy, because they're huge parts of my life. You'd think I had a bunch of guys to choose from, but nay. Being an atheist that doesn't care for football was also a prerequisite. Really narrows options down... in Texas. The thing is, when this guy says, It's really not, I don't think he actually means all women. He can't, because h…

How is this even a debate? You just wrote your own anecdotal experience.

That just couldn't be further from the truth for me. I find men who act all alpha male to be repugnant no matter what they look like. Though I honestly don't find very muscular men attractive either.

Oh. Well then I'm pretty sure I knowc why. It's dating sites. It's the internet. Never before could so many be so choosy without having to reject someone in person. Abundance of options means more filters to narrow down the scope. Since the internet isn't going anywhere and making a new dating site would be pretty difficult, I'd say you might be able to get somewhere by persuading sites to do away with specific height requirements. Instead, if you're a woman, you could choose any height or check…
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/25 06:31 PM

I already said I agreed that the requirement was ridiculous. I'm not dismissing the numbers you provided, but it's only numbers from one dating site (first link paywalled). If this is truly how most women feel about a height requirement, then I think they're being unreasonable. I'm not sure how further discussion can be productive.

On one or two dating sites where they probably get so many matches that they start setting ridiculous filters. I meant a real requirement in real life of most women. If they can't tell the difference, invest time in meeting them in real life.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/25 03:28 AM

This doesn't necessarily mean that's what the overall requirement is. But yeah, I'd agree that a 6' floor is ridiculous for women who aren't tall themselves. I feel like they're doing you a favor by weeding themselves out.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/25 02:53 AM
1

Is it a preference or a requirement? I prefer a slightly taller partner, and I think most women do, but it isn't a requirement, and I've dated shorter. I've definitely never understood the 6ft thing. I'm not sure what the data is on that, and that's pretty important for your argument. Links?

Thank you for clarifying. I agree with you that society helps to shape what we find attractive, but I can't say to what extent people are affected by it or how many. I'm not sure about the historical differences, but that would be interesting to read on. Do you have any links to share? And any links showing women only find 10 to 20% of men attractive as well. I mean... could it be that they only find that percentage attractive but the parameters are different for every woman? That seems more lik…

What is this immutable trait you speak of?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/25 12:20 AM

I mean, I'm sure I don't get it completely since I haven't lived it. But I could say the same for women's burdens and expectations in the dating world. Aside from trying to be understanding about the differences we both have, I'm not sure what the point is. I'm not saying you're doing this, but it seems like for some people it's a contest on who has it harder. It's so pointless.

But there are women who care about that...I'm one of them and would think many other women who comment here also care though I can't know the numbers for certain. Even if more women were more aware, how does that help you?

Same here. I used to be more angry and bitter... sounds familiar. Then after I worked on myself as a person (this took years), I had several great relationships where I learned more about what I want and need and also how I can be a better partner.

So your preferences are fine and women's are asking too much because they have preferences beyond "not fat"?

So... you want women to date men they don't find attractive? Would you want to date a woman who doesn't find you attractive?

I doubt that we're unicorns, but we do exist. Many if not most of us were not always as thoughtful and even-tempered. People can and do grow into better beings, but I'm sure one way to not do that is to allow yourself to grow to hate an entire sex because you perceive your dealings with them to be unfair.

I'm not sure what you expect or want women to do to make things more equitable. We're certainly not all sex workers, and we can't control the ones that are exploiting men and themselves. I've often made the first move in my relationships, and I encourage both sexes to make the first move if they're genuinely interested in the person. Sincerity doesn't guarantee success, but it's a good start. I don't understand fear of rejection, and yes, I've been rejected. You take your shot, and you make it o…

While I understand frustration in general, I don't understand disliking all women for the actions of immature, materialistic ones. I've never disliked all men because I was ghosted for no apparent reason or used for sex or any of the typical things. I was frustrated, sure -- at that person. I just don't see the point in blaming either sex for the ones that have offended me because it really doesn't have anything to do with their sex; they're just people who are narcissistic or oblivious or ignor…

I've never understood that. Fabio is pretty ugly to me. So are large muscles. I'm pretty sure that's just what whomever thinks our fantasy is. Jon Snow is my fantasy, and he's 5'8", probably won't fuck me and knows nothin'.

My empathy? I thought this was supposed to be a discussion. All I have is my experience. I wasn't trying to be an ass. While I understand your frustration, you've placed a large limit on your dating pool. Men and women are not brainwashed. It's in our DNA to make babies. Well, not ours. Just most people. I get why it might be harder for a man than a woman; I'm just not sure if it's true. And if it is, my sympathies. Good luck.

I'm a 41-year-old child-free woman. I have never had an issue finding a child-free man. Maybe I'm just lucky, idk. I bring it up very early in the dating process, and it's never been an issue. I knew from a young age I just never wanted children. I've never had the urge despite people telling me constantly I'd change my mind someday. Ha. Just keep looking. Birth rates have been declining steeply the past 20 years, but I doubt it's because they're like me. Mostly, it's that everything else is so …

Sorry to hear that. Maybe there's a city you do like that could offer comparable money? Better a new start somewhere than giving up. I just hope you don't give up. Good luck.

I mean...as another pointed out, that's not a small thing. It's a tough situation, and it sucks that it didn't work out, but I don't see either of you as the bad guy. I would say, though, that this is the biggest problem with LDRs and that that particular conversation needs to happen really early. Have you had no luck trying to date in your own area? Also, I did ask for an example of a small compromise. I get it if you can't think of one on the spot, though.

Just the fact that you call it "competing for sexual access" is so fucking gross. Do you see women as people with more value than their vagina?

Your last sentence makes me think maybe it's a personality thing? Or maybe even your own standards? What's an issue they wouldn't compromise on?

I can only speak for myself, but I don't give a flying fork about how much he makes as long as he can take care of his own bills. All that matters to me is do we have the same general outlook on life, do we make each other laugh, and does he have a beautiful smile. I don't feel entitled to anything. I'd just rather be single than not have those pretty freaking basic things.

It is constructive. You've just admitted to being a selfish person, so it seems you just like to waste people's time instead of actually thinking about the questions. Don't bother.

Is it? If you feel stuck with someone, how is that making you happy? How is it making them happy? How tf are you getting anything you truly need in that case? You added nothing constructive; you just pissed and moaned. Spin on it, jerk.

This exactly. I'm starting to think joining this sub was a mistake. It seems every post I see is why don't women this and why don't women that. Where's the debate when every question seems to be a bitchfest where they seem to want answers on why one particular woman didn't like a thing. We can't possibly know. I have and never will want confusion, and I'm 41. Who tf are these women that keep being posted about? I've never met one. They're either young and immature or old and immature. Just move …

Sure. Too busy too be vulnerable. Your arguments are so bad. That's at least one weakness.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/24 12:41 PM

Everyone is vulnerable about something. I don't see a point arguing further with someone who can't admit simple facts.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/24 11:52 AM
1

You just don't know anything about people. I'm a woman in a relationship with a man who has been vulnerable in front of me. It did not kill our relationship; it made it stronger. Hiding parts of yourself is the relationship killer.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/24 06:24 PM

That's just called being human. It took me a long time to find the right guy. I'm not mad at all men for how long it took. There's good people and shitty people of both sexes. I'm not sure why either bothers lumping them all together when they've had a problem with one to a few of the billions there are.

I'm sorry you're content with keeping your world so small. Your analogy is ridiculous.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 01:36 AM

But they still have weaknesses. It's human and normal. As for your other sentences, I'm not sure why you felt the need. I said nothing about what the situation was.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 01:31 AM

I don't see that as being strong. We all have strengths and weaknesses. I can't relate to any person who never feels weak or vulnerable. I get not showing it to everyone all the time. But your partner? That's what they're there for.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/24 06:01 PM

Well, that's the thing. Idk how many experiences you've had, but it doesn't mean those women don't exist. I really hope you find a good one. It sickens me that some women use men's vulnerability against them. When I see it in men, I think Thank fuck they're strong enough to show it and trust me enough to see it. The men I've been with that bottle it up... it was always hard to communicate with them.

This comment is just sad. There are plenty of women you can be vulnerable with and not made to feel like less of a man.

Doesn't seem normal to me, but it's good they're saying it so early so you can avoid more dates.

This is what I was going to say. I feel lucky that my first thought isn't about my safety from harm from a random lone man and more about my safety from the elements. But then again, the question is very broad. I would never be alone in the woods if I could help it, so the small possible risk he may pose is worth survival to me. Even if he also lacks survival skills, two heads are better than one.

This has been the biggest issue in my relationships where I can't find what I'm doing wrong/could do better. I always thought it would be easier to find as a woman - a relationship with sex. They haven't been sexless, but I always seem to want it more often. I can't even get my compromise regularly - two or three times a week. Not feeling desirable is a quick way to the end.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/24 11:51 PM

The thing is, you're not talking about dating; you're talking about fucking. And that's fine, but I find it odd that you complain about their entitlement to not want to fuck you... that's not a thing, man. Those particular women did not want to fuck you, a stranger. If that's all you're looking for, yes, it's more often difficult for a man than a woman to find, but it's not impossible. I would also add that as a woman "well past her prime," and slightly better looking than average, I still have …
