my dad was unemployed for two years. my mom quit her low paying job that she loved to find something with a better salary while my dad was constantly looking for work, unable to find anything for the longest time. there was never any talk of her leaving him. your mom sounds like a nasty person, but not all women are like that in b4 "there are exceptions to every rule"

that sucks about your wife. I am very sorry to hear that. yes. they are statistics from one country and the numbers vary wildly in different countries. for instance, a US department of justice study concluded that 7.4% of men suffer from domestic abuse in the US, not 40%. it would be similar to arguing that gun violence is not an issue because gun deaths in the UK are negligible, even though gun violence statistics are much, much higher in the US

Sorry, I phrased that poorly. I'm not sure how you interpreted it but I didn't mean "problems with women" as in "unable to get laid" or anything like that. I was talking about the many users here who have had negative experiences with women and are thus bothered with women and their behavior.

I'm wanting to have a reasonable discourse about the topic. You may have been being sarcastic, but isn't viewing male victims of domestic abuse as "total losers" contributing to the problem at hand? And anecdotal evidence is not proof. Unfortunately in other cases where I've tried talking to people on here it generally boils down to their personal experiences and not larger issues which are backed up by statistical evidence. I just wish more people here were willing to look outside of themselves…

people here seem to be forgetting that 85% of domestic abuse victims are women, and 38% percent of homicides against women are domestic abuse related. it sucks that this double standard against men exists, but it seems shortsighted for a man to pretend like domestic violence against men is a bigger issue
