man, i just had this conclusion this morning. i'm forever chasing external things that at some point in the future i'm hoping will make me happy and feel loved and fulfilled. but it never ends. its just an endless treadmill of chasing these fleeting feelings. and truthfully i've achieved a lot but its never enough. you feel good for a week, a month maybe. but its never enough. the void you were trying to fill is still there, lurking. you compare yourself to someone else's "stuff". you blame some…

i actually think models had a bigger impact on the community than metoo. everyone basically realised we were overly complicating things with shit like peacocking and negging and canned lines and being weirdos. and that you got better results through self improvement and just taking action. that sort of transitioned the community into self improvement. working out. building a social circle. having a job. etc. all pretty traditional things. which in kind, sort of morphed into the manosphere shit w…

treat a stranger like a stranger how are they a stranger? do you not know their name? have you not talked to them for a bit beforehand? texted? made plans together? to go on a date? anyways, i can tell youre stuck in your hand shaking ways, so i'll leave it at that.

That is absolutely not enthusiasm or consent. we are talking about a hug hello mate. if they are not enthusiastic when you greet them, i think that says more about you, than us.

i'd suggest shaking hands on a DATE shows massive insecurity. if you ask her out on a date, you have to assume she is open to the idea of being physical with you. otherwise why would she say yes. so shaking hands seems like you are not confident enough in yourself to believe she'd be comfortable with physical contact with you. we're talking a hug or kiss on the cheek at most. and worse, you are avoiding that imaginary chance of rejection because you are afraid that you wont be able to handle it.…

totally agree with everything youve said. just anecdotally, my therapist doesnt seem to like me bringing up what happened in highschool and prefers to focus on the present and working towards positive change in my current life circumstances. i can sort of understand the rationale even if nots a wholly satisfying solution which sometimes feels like i'm basically 'ignoring' what happened. ive completely turned my life around thanks to her but yeah i still have this wound deep down inside of me. i …

just my perspective but 40 is so fucking young. average life expectancy is around 80. 40, you've only lived half your life. my thinking is that even at 60, youre young. at that point youve still got 20 fucking years to live. thats so fucking long.

My personal opinion would be to cut your gf and the guy some slack. She's working in a male dominated workplace. Theres always going to be dudes into her. Its just a fact of life. Then add onto the fact that she's an intern and probably doesnt want to rock the boat at work. She probably doesnt want to be known as the bitch at work that cant hang with the guys. The best way to fuck this up is to make a big deal out of it. Its really not. So a guy at work likes her, said he'll back off, and wants …

definitely outdated. but still an interesting read. or an interesting part of this 'movement' at least. or not. is there an audiobook version of models?

thanks the reply dude. you're right. i should've be clearer with my point. obviously the parental issues addressed in the book will apply to some people. and for those people, like yourself, i am genuinely VERY happy it has helped. i just wanted to add my voice, in case anyone else decides to read the book, and felt the same way i did. it really does make you question your relationship with your parents. and since i resonated with the nice guy behaviour, i ended up trying to find a problem that …

my main problem with the book is that there is some really solid advice. be assertive. be responsible for your own happiness. but the reasoning behind it is very old and dated. its basically, oedipal/freudian psychology masquerading as self help. you're in love with your mother. or your mother was a bad mother. or your dad was shit, so you took after your mother. or your dad was raised by a shit mother. and now you are not a man. ok. that might appeal to some people who are looking for excuses. …
