so my final verdict on the sandman show is that its just fine it isn't a perfect adaptation, they toned down a lot of the most awesome gnarly stuff, the shit made you go "damn that was fucking metal", morpheus looks more like a twink punk rocker then a creepy looking primordial deity, the race and gender swaps are excessive and unnecessary, they removed all the nods to the greater dc universe, and they probably won't ever adapt some of the trippier stuff like sandman overture, element girls weir…

I gave it a shot, and it was alright but it did not live up to my expectations, they spent an entire episode on Roderick Burgess for instance and there were so many weird race and gender swaps IMO I would highly recommend the comics, because of the fact that they couldn't use certain characters from the DC universe a lot of plot points got fucked with
