That was a really nice article. I've packed my husband's lunch every night since we got married! He likes it. He says most of the guys have to do it themselves or eat out. What a waste! Sometimes I slip candies or notes in there and he always mentions it fondly.

Totally agree with this. I see it so often. Most people I know are in failing marriages because they want a perfect romance and it just doesn't exist IMO. Also, my wedding wasn't the happiest day of my life. It was a gigantic stressful PITA. lol

My husband has gone back and forth with smoking for ages. He's never hid it (I guess I never made him feel like he should try...?) and I never make a big deal. Sometimes I tease him with the extra money he could save and what he could buy for himself, but it's his business. No smoking in the cars or the house and that's it. If he wants to quit, support him. If he doesn't want to quit, just let it be. He's a grownup, it's his body, etc.

Laundry going almost 24/7. Clean up dog hair with broom every morning and evening. Mop hardwood floors 1x a week. Dishes every morning and night usually. WIpe down counters every day Clean the toilet and bathroom surfaces every couple days Clean the fridge every couple weeks. Other random jobs as needed Pick up toys so people don't die walking through the house. Like every hour -_-

The Good: We had a hot day here today, played outside with the kids in the hose (childhood rite of passage!) my house got lots of sun and air and felt amazing The Bad: Toddler has ringworm again. After it had been cleared up. Now the nurse says it could be from one of the pets. GAH. The vet will clear our accounts trying to treat it. The Ugly: My normally well behaved husky dragged me across the road yesterday. I'm sore and scratched up everywhere. And embarrassed to boot

My husband said it first. we had been dating like 8 weeks :p I had had so many bad relationships and thought men loved me, thought I loved them back, but I never really did. Even had to work at it with my husband (boyfriend at the time) but I believed him.

Do you agree with Nozick's definition of love as the formation of a "we"? If not, what do you think is the defining characteristic of love? Yes, I agreed with it. It actually explained my own thoughts pretty clearly. Do you believe in unconditional love? If so, does Nozick's definition suffice or do you have a different understanding of what it means to love unconditionally? I don't know. If I "believe" in it. I think that most romantic love has conditions even if we don't realize it. Like, I lo…

yes on the separation anxiety. Very common around 6 months and comes and goes from there, for a while.

I have 2 kids now, a 4 year old and a 14 month old. I felt pretty much the same way about babyproofing, I let them take their falls and bumps and learn from it (which they do, eventually) although I have locked cabinets and such with cleaning chemicals (not willing to even tempt them) and I'm pretty paranoid around water. But in general yeah, it's a waste of time.

I'm currently a SAHM so about 50% of the time I'm home when he gets home, which is pretty early (2:30 pm) and if I'm not going to be, I usually sweep (we have dogs) make sure there aren't piles of laundry or toys everywhere, and try to empty the sink of dishes...I know he appreciates it so I'm in a pretty good routine of doing it quickly every monring. Agree with the posts about candles, etc. I also open the windows, spray our bed with linen spray etc.

My husband does stuff like this sometimes too. It doesn't bother me. Except one time I was very bothered....I was coloring in an adult coloring book which was supposed to be for stress relief (the irony) and he came out and started coloring it and of course it looked better than mine and I was like WTF lol. But usually, if he sees me struggling or has seen me struggle before, he will help. Or just offer to do it. I don't mind, as long as he didn't say, something really mean like you suck at that…

Baby advice allowed? Looking to stop breastfeeding my toddler but he's OBSESSED. lol. My first didn't nurse very well and she was on pumped bottles by 8 weeks old so it was NBD. I'm exhausted! 15 months of breastfeeding has sapped everything out of me. And my DH kind of wants me to stop. Between a rock and a hard place. P.S. please delete if not OK :)

Haha, no that's ok! You really just described most of what I'm feeling too. I was used to working. Always had a job, as soon as I was 15 years old. Don't feel "productive" as it were, these days. The kids seem to sap everything from me and my poor brain, LOL. Baby days are hard. He tries with them. But often falls asleep when he gets home and is tired, obviously. I agree with the expectations. Modern dads are supposed to be just as good as moms, and while it seems some of the dads I know IRL are…

thank you, you're totally right. It's hard. To change ways of thinking! And I don't want to change him, as a person. I always thought we were a bad fit and we had made a mistake and all this terrible stuff, and I realized later, way later, that what I wanted long term wasn't what I chose when I was 20. So young. And he was young too.

thank you, these are all really helpful suggestions! I do need to get more hobbies. Somehow. Lol. I used to do a lot of baking , crafts, etc and just fell off the wagon. And I read a lot. When the kids are sleeping.

thank you for responding, I'd love to read that if possible. I don't mean doing things like housework, or that. I do pretty much 99% as I'm a SAHM , unless it's something that is really out of my range strength wise, IYKWIM It's more like...having him take an active lead. showing some interest. Leading me instead of me feeling like I'm leading everyone and not doing well at it :/ the heaviness of the responsibility for the kids, the marriage, the state of the marriage.
