Transitioning socially was the hardest thing I've ever done for this reason. I've heard anecdotally that the vast majority of that sub's members are adults in their 30s or 40s. No clue how true it is and at this point, I kinda don't want to know.

Tried this just now and got the same results. Interestingly, when I tried this with "mom" versus "dad", the results were not what I expected at all. For "mom", the first result boiled down to "Well, she could be dealing with stress from outside factors that caused her to lash or, or maybe she felt like you did something to deserve it". For "dad", the first few results (I stopped scrolling) were all posts from various forums asking the same question with seemingly no real answers.

I feel like I've actually seen articles about it, or at least one, and it was written in a doomer kind of way. Like "Oh shit, men aren't wanting to get married or even date anymore! What do we do? Won't someone think of the women?!"

This reminds me of a protest in (I think?) Toronto outside of a seminar about men's mental health. Specifically, I think it was about suicide? Bring up male genital mutilation and (some) feminists will immediately pull out the "but it's worse for women and girls!" card. Like, okay... and?! I'll concede it can be way worse in some cases, but the way they phrase things makes it seem like they don't think male genital mutilation even matters at all. It shouldn't be happening to anyone, especially without consent from the person it's happening to!

This information right here makes me glad I'll likely never medically transition (because fuck spending that much money and dealing with further increasing my risk of heart problems), but also makes me worry about socially transitioning as well. Goddamn. I never knew it was this bad

Circumcision was almost made illegal within the city of San Francisco back in 2010 or 2011 (can't remember which), but a judge struck it from the ballot because apparently the government "isn't allowed to regulate medical procedures". And I think we all can agree how big a lie that is, considering the government does regulate some medical procedures all the time.

I'm not going to kill a snake just because it's in my house, that's stupid and potentially psychotic behavior. The only venomous snakes in my area (that I'm aware of anyway) are easily identifiable as being venomous, plus I don't live anywhere near their typical haunts. The snakes most likely to end up in my house are non-venomous, but can be very temperamental (especially the Pacific Gopher Snake). All I'd need to do is find an empty pillowcase, catch the noodle, tie the bag, and then call FWS.

Ugh, the reduction of people to their chromosomes is so gross, I hate it 🤢 Good to see someone being held accountable for being a misandrist and transphobic though, even if it isn't very likely that they'll learn from the experience.
