I believe (At least in Australia) they assign a monetary value to the act of raising children, as well as factoring in lost wages due to no longer having a career. This is fair in most cases, although the system is often gamed to the point where the husband loses everything.

I'll admit I didn't read that link. My logic is essentially that viewing child porn creates demand, which increases supply. I can understand the point that those who download it may not be rapists, and may never offend, but I would presume a lot (most?) of that kind of material would be produced specifically because people are willing to buy/trade it. I support the notion that authorities should put more effort into going after producers and suppliers than consumer, but I don't necessarily think…

technically anyone who intentionally views child porn should be imprisoned FTFY

And I can understand you being uncomfortable about this. But honestly I don't see why it is a major problem. A child sleeping next an adult isn't implicitly sexual in any way.

I'm with Jay here, I think this might be Cultural. Growing up in a small hippy-town, this sort of thing would have been considered so normal nobody would bat an eyelid.

I'm not sure what the problem is. Sure, you might feel upset that another man is taking over the role of father, but it's completely normal for a 4yo to sleep in bed with her parents. If there was some evidence of sexual abuse then that's a different story, but it doesn't sound like there is.

The point is that I don't know if a woman will abort. She may say she will, but then change her mind when she gets pregnant. This happens quite regularly. If we have an agreement that any pregnancy will be aborted, she can void that agreement at any time without my consent, and then take half my income for a very long time.

The risk of medical complications from an abortion is lower than carrying a child to term. (Much, much lower). That said, I agree with your post. Still, on top of decent male contraception I honestly feel I should have the opportunity to opt out of any rights and responsibilities towards a child in the very early stages of a pregnancy.

So... I can never again have sex without risking 50% of my salary for the next 18 years? Yet woman can enjoy it all they want knowing full well they have no risk. Sounds fair to me.

A male being inside a womans vagina without her consenting to intercourse is rape. No woman would ever actually consent to something as degrading to woman as intercourse. All men were born from a womans vagina. The only possible conclusion one can draw from this is that all men are born as rapists.

Rubbish. Everybody knows all men are born as violent woman hating rapist atheist homosexual hippy commy liberal satanist pedophiles. Porn has nothing to do with it. We should all be thrown in jail and the world ruled by the bastions of sanity, raving feminists.

How does someone that stupid get onto a talk show panel? From the few clips i've seen, Whoopi does a good job of not bitchslapping the other panel members constantly. She seems to be the only rational one.

There was a comment on Reddit recently about how they are going to just start picking random Men off the street and make them pay child support to a random woman. I think we are getting closer to this scenario every day

I agree- We should take case history into account. But walking away from attempted murder with a slap on the wrist is going a little far.
/r/MensRights22/01/10 11:41 PM

There is no excuse for attempted murder. She is not excused just because the guy was (allegedly) beating on her. If the situation was the other way around (And there are a hell of a lot of abusive woman in relationships), the man would have gotten 20 to life.

I can't really put my finger on it. Of all the things that need curing, prostate cancer gets left at the back. I suppose It's is a pain in the arse to deal with, and it's just not as touching as other issues. In terms of media attention, people don't usually find it very stimulating, and in many ways it rubs people the wrong way. Also, there's a stereotype that only only assholes get prostate cancer, so it's not an issue people are really care enough about to get behind, especially when it's suc…

I fail to understand why a Man should be forced to pay a Woman money just because they were once married. Why is he paying her, and not the other way around?

The system really is stacked against us. Your wife can be a cheating whore, get pregnant by another man, and then run off with him. If she then claims you're the father, you're forced to pay them a substantial percentage of your income. (Even if you aren't actually the father).

Absolutely, provided it didn't have any major side effects and was reversible. As someone else posted, it's pretty much the "Male liberation drug". We'll be able to get jiggy without worrying about ending up being forced into slavery.

In most of the world, it wouldn't be. So no, it's not rape unless he forces himself apon her.

Not if she was coming onto him. It's only rape if he forces himself on her.

The question, of course, is would a 19 year old be able to resist the charms of a sexually mature female coming onto him?

Remember folks, it's not discrimination unless a straight Caucasian male does it!

We have to learn to stop "Showing up" woman by doing anything we are better at, and learn to accept that everyone is equal. For example- If you happen to be a male cursed with more body strength than a woman, you shouldn't use any of it. Doing so is sexist and makes woman feel inferior. Ideally you should wear weights to slow you down, therefore making you more equal than you already were. Remember, it's your fault for having a penis.

It's really all mens fault. If we weren't so competitive, we wouldn't have been born in the first place.

In order to help you get back on your feet, we're going to kick you while your down and fine you for not having enough money. And then if you don't have enough money to pay the fine, we'll fine you for not having enough money to pay the fine. And THEN, if you still don't pay the fine you can't pay, we'll give you food and shelter in jail, at far higher a cost than if we provided subsi…

Well that makes a little more sense. Child support is grounded in reality (As long as the payments aren't crippling for the father).

As an Australian, I'm curious what our laws are like compared to this. Do you know specifics? Cuz if they are anything like that I'm never getting married.

Refcio's obligation to his former wife, after just two years of marriage, should look more like $180 to $300 a month Why should be be obliged to pay anything to her?

Wow, that child will never respect her fathers authority again.
/r/MensRights09/04/09 12:20 AM

It's patently ridiculous. If she quit her job to support his kids or do housework, then I can understand a moderate payment to support her till she gets back on her feet. However I seriously doubt she was forced to quit her job, and even if she was I see no reason why she should be entitled to live to such extremes just because her husband was able to provide her with that lifestyle while they were married.

Explain to me why the male is supposed to support the female after a divorce?
/r/MensRights02/04/09 12:27 AM

It's not abuse unless a straight white male does it. At least, that's what society thinks. The reality is there are probably more woman that abuse men than the other way around. Sure, men might beat woman, but far more woman psychologically mess with their men.

You can be damned sure if the genders were reversed there would be considerable jail time involved.
/r/MensRights05/03/09 08:34 AM
2

Well that's the key question. Does it actually make any difference? I suppose it depends on whether the person wants to stop or not. If so, it might help reduce the urges. However if the person has no intention of stopping they will probably keep raping regardless. (In which case I see no problem with life in prison).
/r/MensRights06/02/09 01:01 AM

Wow, that's pretty scary. Do they take the sausage or just the two veg? In either case, I think such a measure should only be used in absolutely extreme cases (such as serial child molesters). Someone being castrated for public exposure is abhorent.

Why is it stupid. They received a report about a possible kidnapping, why wouldn't they investigate. You don't HAVE to tell the police anything, but why wouldn't you?
/r/MensRights26/11/08 05:55 AM

For crying out loud, why is it that people will blankly refuse to answer a simple question by the police, and then get all uppity when the cops are suspicious. If he had simply said "I'm babysitting this child" and explained the situation he probably would have been on his way in 30 seconds. Don't be a dick to the cops, and they won't be a dick to you. Think of it this way: The police received a report of a child potentially being kidnapped. They come to investigate, and the guy gets defensive a…
