In actuality, if they really did believe it themselves, then they wouldn't want to look pretty in the first place. Curious about why you think this. The way I see it, wanting to look pretty=wanting to be treated better. Being reduced to your appearance sucks, and it happens whether you're attractive or not, so you might as well try to reap some benefits.

People react to rape differently. It's possible that someone would still be willing to be around their rapist, especially if they were in the same social circle. Not every victim has the kind of fear and hate toward their rapist that most people would expect. Emotions aren't exactly clear cut in situations like that. I don't know the girl you're talking about, so I won't pretend to know anything about her particular situation, I just wanted to point out that hanging out with a guy she claimed ra…

I feel like this is either misleading or I'm missing something. The title seems to imply that as many adolescents are sexually assaulted by female perpetrators as male, but that isn't what the link is saying at all. It's simply about what percentage of male and female perpetrator's victims are children, adolescents, or adults. The majority of sexual assault against adolescents found by this study is still committed by male perpetrators. What point are you trying to make with your title?

Different factions of shitty people. Many blame or refuse to believe rape victims. When shitty people do believe rape victims, sometimes they murder either falsely accused or convicted rapists because they think they're fucking Batman all of a sudden. The stories don't really contradict each other, the world is just fucked up in a bunch of different ways.

That makes sense. You're much braver than I. After having a few too many invalidating conversations with "friends" about my rape, I would be too afraid of being further invalidated by a conversation with my rapist (who would almost certainly claim he had done nothing wrong). I hope you're doing well, and I hope you have all the support you deserve. I hope she realizes and feels the weight of what she's done.

Disgusting. So sorry you had to deal with this on top of the initial abuse. Have you considered asking your cousin to contact her? If they were friends at some point, your cousin might have better luck with communication. Also, what exactly were you hoping to get out of confronting your molester? (I ask as someone whose worst nightmare is having a conversation like this.)

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
