Nuance is a luxury of high bandwidth data transfer, like in a tête-à-tête or live conference. Y'know how when adults are talking children should be seen and not heard? It's because catering to their uneducated ears and undeveloped minds results in tedium for the impatient and the loss of all conversation. The rallies of peer communication can't occur if one party or the other is continually interrupted for explanation of terms to bystanders. The other option is big packets: formal journals go th…

I believe the commenter is referring to the jargon term on the the red pill reddit 'spinning plates', which is shorthand for multiple simultaneous sexual relationships. Commenter seems to be implying that you may occasionally mix companionship at meals with your several lovers and that that is the substance of your romantic life. I suppose this to have been written in a tone of faint derision or faux disbelief, although with only text it is a fool's errand to read much into subtext. Personaly I …

I just read a novel that has a future language in it which has one word to express the concept 'nonzoophiliaworthy' animal. People are so weird.

I've just been reading Rollo Tomassi's "Rational Male" book, which is probably the best thing I've see explaining this in a broad social sense. His is the first blog linked on the right sidebar under the heading 'good links'. He calls being 'in charge' frame control. In his book (which is made up of a number of the articles from his blog, rewritten to be clearer), frame is the answer to the question 'whose world are we living in?' He thinks either you'll live in her world, or she'll live in your…

Don't feed the troll. He doesn't get the distinction between maker and made. Thanks for the song. I'd never heard it.

I take it that you don't see yourself as someone who could deliver that line and have it received well.

I appreciate your thoughtful reply. I think you're right that irl meetings are likely to be more fruitful (we are primates after all), plus you might become friends, which is even better than learning to tame money (ends/means distinction). There's an argument to be made here that giving at least some of your ideas away for free is a net benefit after a couple of exchanges with peers, but that's a long term strategy that depends on how long it takes to perform an exchange. (The other person has …

So, I'll read the book you recommend. I imagine I'll come out of that with some questions. I'm willing to envision the possibility of greater returns than 10 cents per annum just because I've seen it happen. My dad was an entrepreneur, my brothers are ~entrepreneurish or at least have experience in owning their own businesses. There are ten thousand investing sites, and frankly I don't know enough about money and finance to parse who's full of shit and who isn't. I'm not that good at game skills…

We are born, and we suffer until we go; We live till we die, and that's all we know, Neither what the purpose nor whose the game To make us, break us, with pain and shame. We are brought to a board where there's all we wish-- But the cook's gone mad and has fouled each dish; We can plan and make; we can think and do-- But the prize is a husk, worm-eaten, too; Our minds are a marvel, as all agree, And our bodies as well, but the two don't gee, So they live in a permanent tug of war, To each the o…

Serious followup: any kind of acting or improv training can assist with the nonverbal aspect of this tactic. I personally recommend Johnstone's Impro to anyone who wants to have friends and dominate bitches. tl;dr Tell all the truth but tell it slant, Success in circuit lies. Detailed, thoughtful reply. 99.5/10 would read while on break again. Response needs only a link to a visualization of the infamous 'idk gesture/face' and a gratuitous gif near the end for full points. *Edited for compliance.

That anger is legit. The right place to express it is in close relationships, because humans are gregarious. It takes time and attention to find others whom one can trust with that which is most deeply true about oneself, including the anger we all feel upon learning how deeply our socialization process chumps us. Dr. Z prescribes forming friendships strong enough to bear serious conversations with men worthy of respect, ideally two to five years older than OP. To OP: are there people you respec…

From the point of view of someone who identifies with his egoic self, i.e. the construct of the thoughts and happenings one has had all his life, (and having had them, ordering all further occurrences according to those gone before), radical change is equivalent to death. What another might call 'self improvement' would by such a self seem a translation as complete as that from dwelling among the living to being in the place of the dead, the ultimate other. It would be literally inconceivable to…
