Best thing you can do is get some side chicks so you are not so needy for this one. Your ambivalence will make you even more desirable with the current girl. Maybe not what you want to hear, but female psychology is often counter intuitive. Good luck, soldier.

Regarding point #1, I don't literally mean you getting drunk, but you may feel like she will be more receptive because you know that she had 1-3 drinks. That knowledge may quell some of your own insecurities. You know what I'm saying? The woman will always reflect the man's energy, so if you are tentative, she will be too.

Hey man, my advice to you is do NOT be indirect. It will not be awkward unless you make it awkward. In fact, she will respect you being a man and asking straight up. If she declines then you move on and she will see you with other women and then she'll wonder if she made a mistake. If you tiptoe around it on the other hand, she will not respect you and she'll be more likely to decline your offer. Get it done, soldier.

Hey man, here are a few thoughts to maybe push your thinking a bit. 1). Projecting your insecurities on her. Part of me is wondering if the 1-3 drinks are really loosening *you* up, not her, enough to build the courageousness to escalate further.
