They will be able to give you free help on everything from target hardening your property to lawyers specialising in this area. 16	Vocal Feminist Judge apologises for lying about Fathers group making death threats . She purposely misled Parliament, which is a very big deal in the UK. 8	Is a school allowing girls to wear earrings but not boys a form of sexual discrimination? I doubt it's legally discriminatory - schools and colleges set their own dress codes. You could ask them how much consultation they did with pupils and parents or if they completed/considered an equality impact assessment. If they didn't then you might be able to persuade them to reconsider. Do you have a student council, union or something similar? 3	British government minister 'admits' equality does not apply to heterosexual men Case Closed? The article says that Featherstone is a Lib-Dem reporting to Harriet Harman. Erm, no, Harman is a former Labour Minister and general twat. The Lib-Dems are in coalition with the Conservatives, not Labour (of which Harman is a prominent figure). 2	There are laws requiring (UK) government departments to consider the impact of policies on women, pensioners, ethnic minorities and the disabled. But not men, wtf, I can even.. This is just bad journalism. Equality Impact Assessments are routinely used across government prior to the introduction of legislation or policy. If used correctly they consider the potential impact on everyone, but particularly focussing on ensuring a minimisation of inadvertent discrimination based on age, sexuality, faith or belief (or lack of), race, ethnicity, disability and gender. Well, she was suffering from depression. They're both mentally ill - but unless we've seen the psychiatric report there's no way we can judge. 2	A feminist asks for your help. A lot of your questions are related to childcare/access etc. Obviously this is an important gender issue, but there are a sizeable chunk of people in relationship (or not) who haven't got or don't want children. Personally, (and selfishly) I'd like to see equal rights for all, regardless of gender or parental status (with a bit of common sense thrown in).
