Attorneys need to be barred in the state they are representing their clients. This is actually a huge roadblock because I did at one point have a big named lawyer on the hook but he is in LA and it wasn't worth it for him to travel and become barred in a state that he does not intend to do repeat business in. I asked for that and the reasoning is that the fight will be a long one. The university uses a firm called Littler (sp, on mobile) and they have exactly one strategy. Delay delay motion to dismiss, delay, appeal delay. They milk their clients for billable hours while wearing down their opponents. So this means there will be a hefty time sink involved. I have unique opportunities I'll never get back at this college, and as much as people love to bash it, I have a real chance at going in to academia and making a living at it, which is super rare.
