Hello, I am the person that this happened to in question. It may be somewhat difficult for u/savethebros to pull up my previous posts because I set my account to private in an attempt to mitigate harassment. I am still active on Reddit, it just provides me with a bit of a buffer from unwanted attention. I also want to say that I appreciate u/savethebros for sharing my story where they have, it actually helped quite a lot, especially when things were really dark. That being said, I more or less a…

You should see if you can break away from that and come by and hang out! You totally need time for yourself, don't let your life be ruled by other people.

I was thinking about wearing a sign directly related to my own experience. "1 in 6 men are victims of sexual violence. I am one of them." And when engaged discuss the lack of shelters and support for men who have been abused and assaulted, how laws don't include men as victims, ect.

Awesome! If you could, see if anyone can bring like poster board and markers and such. I really wish I had some resources to throw at this but I'm running on empty, but the most important thing is for people to be there so we can support each other.

Well, I mean, we should talk to people who are friendly. The point of the exercise is to show that we are human too. But absolutely do that if someone is being antagonistic. It's exactly what MLK Jr. had his protesters do and it shows the world that you have the moral high ground. I would hope that the vast majority of people we run into will want to engage us positively with hugs and pictures and support, but I suspect at least one or two people to be assholes. Let them be assholes in front of …

Yeah that's exactly what I'm thinking! Something super chill. I am a quick Marta ride down from the Con myself, so it's nothing for me to be down there too.

I have had to answer this question so many times now. Lawyers are actually not magical creatures that appear and make problems into money. I have a good case, and I have meetings next week with sets of attorneys, some of which have helped me out through several steps of this process, but they are not cheap and almost no one takes these cases on contingency or pro-bono because of the amount of work involved and how new and untested the law is. That said this case has escalated so high that one of…

I am angry, I am fighting, I have been for three years. I want a lawyer, where do I find one that will help me? I can't afford one.

So I have filed 3 police reports and had one warrant application hearing and everyone including a judge's ruling threw the ball back in the university's court. It was incredibly frustrating.

I lost everything when I was made homeless. I don't have anything to trade in or sacrifice. The dean even taunted me about this earlier on and that's covered in the podcast. I was talked into trying gofundme again. Link is in the edit of the main post.

Attorneys need to be barred in the state they are representing their clients. This is actually a huge roadblock because I did at one point have a big named lawyer on the hook but he is in LA and it wasn't worth it for him to travel and become barred in a state that he does not intend to do repeat business in. That was the closest I got to regular true council. He spent a lot of time with me helping me file witb regulatory bodies.

I described this situation in almost those exact words the other day! In fact, I was working on a book about how we as a society have chosen the cyberpunk dystopian route and what that means before this started, but I haven't been able to work on it at all since, and if anything I have all this new material to work with.

You know what, if the mods are OK with it I will set one up and see if I can get it to stay up this time. It will be a bit before I will have a chance.

I asked for that and the reasoning is that the fight will be a long one. The university uses a firm called Littler (sp, on mobile) and they have exactly one strategy. Delay delay motion to dismiss, delay, appeal delay. They milk their clients for billable hours while wearing down their opponents. So this means there will be a hefty time sink involved. Plus there's a ton of evidence to go through. So they all want cash up front.

I have a video series detailing the whole thing, I have spoken to attorneys and gotten some advise but cannot afford one but would be more than willing to take one if offered, and I have written extensively about the situation in detail in the past on multiple subreddits.

Gofundme doesn't allow raising money for legal aid, and I tried this for other assistance and using another crowed source website for legal aid that is no longer up and they got report bombed by my harassers and all of the money got lost in the process. I don't want people to waste their money like that again.

It wasn't recorded intentionally. It's in my videos where I discuss this, but the therapist was employed by the school and I stopped seeing her when she started to use our sessions to nudge me in the direction of not pursuing legal action against the school. There's an email chain that regards that and some other issues though.
/r/MensRights10/07/19 09:10 AM

Well the videos are still up on YouTube and survived the report brigading. I would love help managing them better, frankly I just put the microphone on and unloaded, though people have praised me for them and others claim they are too long or that segments involving recordings are too long. I'm not a video editor, I'm learning this as I go along.

I am more than happy to talk to anyone, I have shot some emails off to people who have covered this before but haven't heard anything back yet.

What do you mean by the proper way? I'm willing to talk to anyone and everyone about what is happening so no one else has to go through this.
/r/MensRights10/07/19 08:54 AM

Yes! I have tons of chat logs and information backed up as well as audio recordings of meetings with staff abusing me and locking me out of the process unfairly. I have appeared in a podcast and made a YouTube series about it, but I'm afraid I would run afoul of the mods because those videos do contain the information for publicly accessible university personnel.

Yes, I told an on campus therapist about it after it happened and she told me to keep quite about it or I would be the one in trouble. She was right.

No, I have no family and I'm basically all alone. I have a roomate who has given me free shelter after reading my story online and that's it. I will be expelled from a university that I have already had to medically withdraw from.

Yes! I have a post there, most of which is just "get a lawyer" like everyone says, which I have tried to do like I have said many times, and that took some doing. I had submitted it to that subreddit multiple times and it was actually taken down all but the last one, only after I had a conversation with a regular poster from that subreddit detailing how it had been taken down every time. I think the subreddit is under new moderation now too, as there were issues with it before. Frankly one of th…

I think what you are trying to say is use the routing number to wire someone money, and while technically possible it isn't advisable because that information can be used to steal the money in the account.

So I tried that, and 1)Go fund me can't be used to raise legal aid money, there was a service for this but it has since been shut down. 2) When it was up, the harassing students review bombed it and everything I posted. They still do this sometimes, just not on Reddit as much anymore. What happens is that the automod system closes the fundraiser and no one gets refunded. The appeals process on ether site just told me it was shut down due to the volume of reports and their ToS lets them keep the …

I have tried, no one will come for me because I can't afford it. In fact I tried to crowed source money for an attorney when this started and the harrassers review bombed it and other crowed sourced efforts for assistance cutting me off from support.

The reason why I hesitate to do that is because I speak at length about who runs the school, and while I made sure I didn't violate YouTubes TOS by blurring out names and faces of students, any front facing employees of the university who's information is publicly accessible is visible. YouTube has cleared them all even though they were reported, but I don't want to run afowl of the mods. I am very open about who I am in them. There's no reason to hide where they come from to protect me, because…

Thank you for your kind words. What do you mean by marking them as private? I wasn't aware that there were reddit tags that could do such a thing and the videos have been up for a while. There is a backup I could post that is unlisted if that's helpful, I just don't want to violate the subs rules.

If you can find that post that would be most helpful. I am attending the hearing in protest, using it as a platform to express my disgust. You are right though, it is effectively a lynching.

It's exactly what it is, and how it was described by one of them in regards to making me feel isolated on campus. It's been a complete nightmare and I'm looking at losing my entire future for speaking out about not only my assault, but the other issues with the university in terms of safety.

I have gotten the advice from many lawyers, but no. And before anyone starts on the "you should have gotten a lawyer" bandwaggon, I tried. I can't afford one. There is no magic lawyer tree. If you get into a serious issue like this, regardless of all of the evidence you have collected, you are on your own if you are not rich. I am totally open if anyone who knows an attorney or is an attorney wants to speak with me about this issue and would welcome any help, but I have lost all hope at this poi…

It's cool. Skepticism is healthy. Some people have seen it as a sign of weakness, but I have continually asked those around my situation to seek out all of the points of view before taking a side. On Reddit, I can't post a lot of the evidence we collected, or from whom. I also recorded a lot of my meetings with administration, because I am in a first party consent state it's legal. The whole thing has been a shocking disaster, but the abundance of evidence has been the reason why I have been abl…

It's not just the anchoring (which is the technical term for siding with the first person who comes to you), it's the dogmatic enchrenchment that happens afterword. Not only is no amount of evidence good enough, it's not even a question that you are just the enemy and it's an "at any cost" adversarial relationship once the accusation is made.

The worst amount of it was in between our breakup, she managed to break through the security of the apartments and sat outside of our apartment door for who knows how long. I was actually joking about her doing stuff like this (as she had done similar things in the past), but right as I said that I wouldn't be surprised if she was following me around I got a text letting me know she was in the hallway. Freaked my roomates out, actually.

No that's fair, and no. Ironically, while there were girls who constantly wanted to talk about sex and would proposition me on campus and my now recent ex was very jealous of this, all I ever wanted to do was study and I was only ever really interested in one girl and only had sex with one girl. It does play a part in how this played out, however. I've been told a lot of it is bound up in jealousy, some of the people who harassed me didn't like that I wasn't interested in them, my ex in particul…

Due to false sexual harrasment and stalking allegations, I have lost my home, been social and economically isolated, and have had my civil rights trampled upon. This is despite a confession and instead of being the target of a Title IX investigation, I was the complaintant. Regardless, because I am a man, the matter was buried and I am out of luck according to many with nowhere to go.

Dude, an education matters to some people. I have always wanted to become a professor my entire life and I never thought I would ever have a chance following this dream. On top of that, I have had my ass kicked so bad I don't have enough money to eat off of some days. I'm doing odd jobs just to get by trying to figure this out. I can't get through this shit if I can't go to class and get my degree. I have unique opportunities I'll never get back at this college, and as much as people love to bash it, I have a real chance at going in to academia and making a living at it, which is super rare. Also, I lost my home, my income (which is also tied to this and hard to explain without identifying people), and now a lot of my property, so my immediate survival matters quite a lot!
