"Ironic"? Anyway, that's why chemistry between both person is important. And it depends on what you say in the moment. Some things might sound cheesy but cute in context. You also weren't dying to impress or to sleep with her, which is what many threads are preaching. You just do that naturally.

I haven't watched the entire video yet, and I'm still not the age for pickup, etc. I do think it's an important social skill though. My question is that does one have to remember these techniques and do it sort of systematically, or does one eventually get the job done naturally? I mean, can you train to become charming? Because I feel that charm seems to be a natural trait. Confidence isn't the same as charm.

Well you seem pretty confident. As far as I can tell, you did the appropriate things under suitable circumstances. If you simply followed your instincts then I gotta say, your instincts are awesome.

It's not selfish at all. Investing in oneself can also benefit the significant other. You increase the possibility of things in common and pastimes both can enjoy together. It's something that benefits yourself and possibly people around you.

OP, is there any change you would make to your "strategy" if you were trying to find a relationship partner?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
